Question is, did you buy it because you thought it was cool or because you work construction?

I bought it a little under 4 years ago. gas wasn't too bad and I used it for my construction company. Now it is my only vehicle and with my current salary in my new position I can't afford another car and I need to keep the truck.

They make a hybrid civic that is pretty good.

I still think the Prius is a better car though.

In spring 2009 Toyota is supposed to have their third generation Prius for sale that gets 80-100 mpg.

These hybrids are not so bad "subjectively" because the electric motor gives them strong low end torque. For example the electric motor in the current Prius makes 295 lbs of torque at 1600 rpm (<---That is a lot). Plus they are quiet and not buzzy like a typical old school economy car.

They are rigged... the volume of the gas, and thus the performace of a gallon is measured at 65 degrees F. The higher the temp, the less performace per gallon you get as the gas expands... So yes, it is rigged...

Havent, but my father did, and we discussed it. Looks now like Japan is going to push GM's hand. Supposdely, we will have electric cars in production by '10.

Hopefully, cause this bio-fuel/ethanol thing will not work with our massive consumption. Biofuels for the general market will create WAY more problems than they solve. All that farmland being converted to grow fuel is just sickening. We must be crazy to trade in potential food for potential fuel.

POS being his Mustang?? Don't get me started on Mustangs. I've owned 4, 93 Cobra, 90 GT, 91 notchback and a 96 Mystic Cobra. His car is far from a POS.
I'd roll a rusted out 5.0 before I ever set foot in a Honda or any other Jap car.

I had no choice. My mother became very ill and the only way I was able to secure a lone at the time (19 no credit etc.) was for her to put 10g's in a CD against my loan. When she got sick she was out of work for 19months and in the hospital for 53days so she needed the money and I sold it to a dealer for a the GT and they paid my loan off and she got her money. I assure I wish I still had it and may get one in the next few years. Let me see if I can find a pic. Will have to scan it....

hit $80 to fill up my SUV's tank yesterday for the first time...

I can't afford to buy a car and I doubt I'd get much trade in value for a 98 Dodge Durango with 175k+ miles on it... I still love that magnum v8 engine though
