Stress affecting losses?

How much can stress affect fat loss? I'm not talking about that one pill on TV that says "You're fat because of stress hormones!" I'm talking about stress inducing a plateau in weight loss. I've been bouncing off the walls at work the last two weeks and my losses have slowed considerably. Is this just coincidence and I happened to hit a plateau at the same time things at work picked up? Am I being too impatient in my time frame? Can outside stress factors really influence weight loss?

More likely that your work shedule is cutting into your meal planning and gym time.

Long term stress can affect weight loss, but you are talking about long term, maybe a chonically ill partner or parent, not end of month accounts.

You're probably right. I know it's cut into my sleep hours, which will have negative effects. After I read your reply, I checked my food/workout log. My meal planning has remained within boundaries (How I managed that, I have no clue. I think this forum is a good influence on me ), but I have been much more haphazard in my workouts lately. Thanks!

Stress can affect a lot of things. It might be indirectly affecting you in ways you don't typically think about. Hopefully you will get past it soon.
