is released more when you lift weights. Why is it said that weight lifting slows you growing taller, shouldn't it speed it up?

I dont think estrogen stunts growth (but then again I have no clue, I'm 6'1" and i have lots of estrogen lol)
Building muscle at a young age stunts growth (like really young). I think they say dont start lifting until your like 12 or somethin like that. Its because children & adolescents have growth plates at the end of most of their bones. The growth plate regulates the length & shape of bones. And bones grow around growth plate.
The growth plate is the last part of bones to harden and makes it more vulnerable to fractures which can cause problems like unequal bone length. So weight lifting can stunt your growth if you damage your growth plate. The lesson is in the struggle, not in the victory.

your right
"At the completion of puberty, the reproductive glands in both males and females increase the production of the hormone estrogen. It is the high concentration of estrogen in the blood that causes the growth plates of our bones to fuse. This fusion effectively closes the growth centers of long bones and renders them unable to respond to the hormones that initiate growth."
Im guessin after puberty and the bones "fuse" then ur genetics will determine ur height (obviously otherwise all women would be short if estorgen means stunted growth). The lesson is in the struggle, not in the victory.
