All the way from the UK
I've always found Gina Davis to be one of the nicest looking female bodybuilders, still retaining a feminine sexy look.
Fantastic arms! In fact she's one fantastic looking woman!

Wow...she is HUGE. She must spend hours upon hours in the gym. Hopefully, without the use of Vitamin S.
Did you see her eating plan? Amazing how she can stick with it. Loved when she says she has one cheat day a week; if she eats ice cream for her cheat day, she eats the entire 1/2 gallon so she "gets it out of her system".
OMG, if I ate 1/2 gallon of ice cream on a cheat day, I would be 400 pounds. She must have one hell of a metabolism.

You are joking right? There is no possible way a lady can that big without the use of Roidzors.
Sorry to tell you but that is all Vitamin S.

Then how can she compete legally? I would assume that for a competition, she would have to have a blood test to check for steroids, correct?

I take it you're new to body building. As this is the female section and not the misc or IFBB section I'll be polite. Posting this comment in the afore mentioned sections would elicate endless joy from those who get off on making sarcastic remarks, probably illustrated by an array of creative photoshop works.
Its sort of like a "you mean the pope's a Catholic?" question.
Basically in this day and age (and for some time now) a male body builder does not get anywhere within sight of a pro body building stage without consuming truck loads of the stuff. Its an open secret. No one in the pro body building industry, especially not the judges, promoters or competitors is unaware of this.
Basically pro body building shows simply don't do drug testing. (I think they might have tested for diuretics once one year or something - but not steroids). This goes for the female body builders too. You can take every growth hormone and steroid you can possibly squeeze into your body and you won't be tested for it on the pro body building circuit. No risk of it whatsoever.
You might ask why. Who knows, probably because the promoters know that people want to see freaky mass and freaky definition and natural body builders can't come close to what chemically enhanced people can do in that regard. The promoters want to put on a freak show and the drugs give them the competitors they want. To insist on testing for steroids would be shooting their own cash cow, they're not going to do it.
There are natural body building shows out there, they don't pay nearly as much money (if any at all) though.
Though there is no talk of them introducing testing for female athletes I was reading in another thread about moves to change the judging criteria for the women so the obvious heavy abusers (based on looks) don't win. That could then have a flow on affect to motivate the women to take less.

My mistake seems it was just the NPC Nationals in Dallas they were doing that. The NPC is only the amateur extension of the IFBB professional league but it feeds into it. So its a start.

I've been breathing the "bodybuilding air" for quite some time but actually its appearance in this thread is the first time I've come across the term 'Vitamin S' myself... catchy, though.
After a while it will be very obvious to you who the naturals and who the juicers are. Then you can spend significant portions of your free time trying to explain to your non-bodybuilding friends what the difference is, and why you don't look like Iris Kyle even though you train like a dog and eat like a horse.

I agree that Rene Toney looks masculine, and while I'm a fan of women with extreme amounts of muscle, eg the current crop of Ms Olympia, Collettee Guimond, Jana Linke-Sipple, Alina Popa etc, I think that they still exude a feminine quality ,in my mind anyway. However maybe she was born that way, not everyone can be born with a pretty face, and some women have a high amount of testosterone anyway. I would still mark her highly in a Bodybuilding comp, as I believe there should be comps for women who want to take their bodies as far as possible, just as there are for men. As far as I'm concerned if they want to take Vitamin S and risk their health that's there business as long as it's an informed choice.
