Hey guys hows a nice 1/2 avocado (green) with a slice of wholegrain bread and a tbsp of olive oil for breakfast! It tastes amazing :P btw. I know its healthy fats and low gl carbs but there isnt enough protein. If i add some source of protein the breakfast is gonna hit 500+ cals. What do you say ^^?

You can cut out some of the avocado or just do a tsp of olive oil and drink a whey shake if you want more protein.

How about some smoked salmon on top? Would add some extra protein and different healthy fats (omega 3).
I often have fish in the morning for breakfast, kippers, mackerel and salmon are great choices.
You could even grill some extra lean bacon or turkey-based bacon if you're fed up of eggs.

Add egg whites for a low calorie good protein source I agree with cutting back on the olive oil just a tad.

Very true, food is best perhaps, but polyunsaturated fats are oxidized very easily and are heat sensitive, so I doubt you are getting 5 full grams of Omega 3s by cooking the fish.
Sushi ftw.

egg white is like 3g prot which is aorund 12cals so if i get some its more usefull to chow down 5-10 whites at a time.. also as i said not htat ima eat that every mornig... i bought an avocado 1 avocado and i think its a good idea to vary at times plus this combo gives around 20g of fiber in one meal thats almost the daily rda of fiber intake in 1 meal :P

Ive always been under the impression not to mixed fats with carbs. So maybe one or the other? no use for 2 energy sources was my understanding.
With that, first meals of the day I believe need to be a little carb heavy as youve pretty much have been fasting for the 6-9 hours you probably were sleeping and your body is catabolic upon awakening.....

My breakfasts range from 400-700 calories for the most part. I usually get my fats from eggs tho . . . check my journal (link in sig).

A large egg has 1.6g saturated out of 5.4g total fat. I do the same, beef & dairy as well as eggs. I figure for optimum hormone levels ~30-35% of total fat intake should be saturated,

I could never eat half an avocado...I'd definitely eat the whole thing. Don't really think it's necessary to ingest the olive oil, though. The avocado has lots of quality fat and is about 250-300 calories. The OO is 120 or so for a tablespoon. I'd rather do a whey protein shake instead of that OO for a breakfast.
Throw in an egg or three and it's a good breakfast : )
