estimate bf?

Would those of you who have an eye for this kind of thing mind giving me an estimate of my bf percentage?

picture

I'm asking because my doc says I need to lose weight... I'm diabetic, so he may be right, but I'm not sure he's paying attention to my bf ratio... My calipers say 10-12%, but that only measures subcutaneous fat, and it's certainly possible that I'm carrying visceral fat. Anyhow, I'm not asking for a diagnosis here, but just some corroboration that I might have a case to make to the doctor.

Mike,

My guess is 12%. Maybe your doctor is just looking a charts and not actually thinking about your muscle mass. The BMI charts only have your height and weight for the calculations. I'm way overweight by those calcs.

Thanks, guys.

Servo, it's clear the doctor goes by the chart, since he has it on his wall and runs his finger down it every time I see him. And I've done my best to make the BMI chart misrepresentative by gaining muscle mass, though I'm still in the "normal" range!

Tropszzz, I couldn't find the article you mention in the table of contents of M/F online (are you sure it was May?), but I did find some articles about a condition they called "metabolically obese normal weight." Sure, if a diabetic isn't obese, and thus doesn't fit our theory, let's redefine obesity: that'll help solve the problem!!!!!! Sometimes I don't like doctors very much...
