I just passed on my first attempt easily the NSCA CPT test. I believe it to be the 2nd best cert you can get besides the NSCA CSCS. So I'm pretty excited, first page who posts here gets a weak 27 reps eventually?

Make sure you go with one of the nationally accredited ones. I personally think NSCA is leaps and beyond all others but other people think NASM, ACSM ect are also worthy. A cert you can get in 15 minutes isn't worth your time

Um I got the books in january, took the test may 16th. There is a lot of common sense that if you are intellegent you can just get it right without really studying. A lot of stuff on here corresponds well with the nsca, and a lot of stuff on here is the complete opposite of what the nsca says. If you are a complete begginer reading the whole book is very necessary, if you have been lifting for ~6 years you should be good.

No class, independant learning....i was just comparing the work load to a class my bad. I took a class based on the ACE certification and there were 25 people in there. I'd say 90% of the people on this board could easily pass the ACE if they memorize their like "This % of people are obece stuff" The NSCA is nothing like that it is legit real knowledge
