starbucks!
I'm a fan. A huge one.
I haven't let myself have too much in the last few mnths as its really expensive and high in calories.
Anyone know what's acceptable at starbucks?
I'm a latte fan, and am happy they have a skinny latte.
Besides that, I love everything. My favourites are the fruit bar and the vegan brownie.
Both claim to be 1 gram of fat. Its a lie. Lol.
Anyone know where I can find more nutritional info?

To lower the calorie content in a latte, have them add more espresso (make it a triple or quadruple). Also see if you can't get used to them without sweetener/flavoring. Cappaccinos have fewer calories as less steamed milk is added to the milk froth...and if you can make the switch to cappaccino, you may even be able to start handling them dry (no steamed milk, only froth).
My favorite is a breve latte...it's made with heavy cream instead of milk. Just don't get started on those! LOL

geez I used to get the caramel macchiatos but those are high in calories too. I prefer now if I go there (not very often) to just get a straight espresso.

The caramel macchiatto is what started it all for me, I have to say! I bet you'd love the texture and richness of a breve latte if you like those. Of course, straight up espresso is probably what you ought to stick to...
I was trying to think of an excuse to drink breve lattes...might be a good reason to try keto. LOL

When I go to starbucks (like once a year) I go all out and have a Java chip frap! It has like a billion calories but is the best darn coffee I have ever tasted!

How does a latte with fat-free milk still have 18g of sugar in it? Are they putting a shot of something in it or expecting you to add a sugar packet?

8 oz of fat free milk has about 12g of sugar (lactose is milk sugar). Your typical 16 oz coffee drink only has 2 oz of espresso...the rest of that space is filled with milk/milk foam.

I've given up my mochas since I checked out their site. *sigh* Once the cold weather rolls back in I'll save them as a reward.

I hate starbucks coffee. Ick. Get yourself some Dunkin Donuts Hazlenut. A little creamer and you don't even need sugar. The Hazlenut flavor is strong enough to give it a great nutty flavor. mmmmmm.....

I always do something like an Americano with no sweetner or milk or an iced green tea unsweetened.
Since I don't eat processed foods my pallet is really sharp so I enjoy the boldness of straight up espresso and H20
If you can't do it straight up you could always add some milk and maybe a Splenda at max you're probably looking at 60 cals for a Grande Americano and Milk.

I guess I'm lucky - I hate the flavoured / creamy coffees. I'm an Americano person too.
That said, I do love their shortbread choc chip cookiees - but it's the only thing I have a sweet tooth for, and don't have them too often.

But they sure do look at you funny when you order a 5 shot tall skim dry cappuccino... Seriously, had that experience last week... If you really like espresso and are good with just foam rather than steamed milk, it's great to order just for the look on the cashier's face

Totally O/T. . .
but I go to three different Starbucks places and I only treat myself to a Starbuck's once a month. Therefore, none of the staff recognize or know me.
Every time I go in there, I give a completely fake name. Some names from the past include:
Guinevere
Aloyisus (Aloe-ish-us)
Fernanda
Escobar
Matilida
Fanny (That's my favorite. They fight the giggles. He he he.)
Xi
It's not really funny to anyone but me. . .but for some sick reason, it entertains me.

Freak!
I'm going to start doing that when I visit my parents in Abilene (it's impossible for me to drive for more than 30 minutes without a coffee in my right hand. It just doesn't feel right!). TOO FUNNY!

Love the skinny mochas but try to stick to just a tall. And keep them relatively infrequent..

I love all of the skinny latte flavours - hazelnut, vanilla, and mocha... yum.
I second wannagetlean's idea too --> a plain americano iced w/ some sweetener is awesome!

Yes, the iced americano with sweetener sounds great! Good idea.
Personally, I have a milk frother, so I usually make my own cappuccinos when I want one. My milk frother is like this one. I just brew the coffee double strength, then froth some milk, add some artificial sweetener, and it's good.

i make my own at home ,, i make coffee and you can buy DaVinnci flavored syrup s/f ..they have several flavors..and use cool whip free with a little splenda and it is a cheap , lower calorie alternative// i make homemade lemonade with splenda and use the s/f cherry syrup over crushed ice and it is good in summer

I used to live on the hot Chai's...but now I usually do a hot green tea, and add some sweetner. Or I do an americano and add my own sweetner. I need to try the americano iced, never tried that, sounds like a great idea
