Protein and Acne

I am currently using Allmax IsoFlex protein and am finding that I am getting crazy acne... on my scalp, back and Face.... Is this normal? or is it an ingredient within their protein? I'm using strawberry and natural. Any suggestions?

Likely not from the protein but from an increase in hormonal activity. Test levels, diet or stress can be creating more oils on your skin. These oils are normal but can be over-excreted when hormonal activity is changed. Are you using any other products besides Isoflex? Have you changed your diet in any way (eating more hormone fed meats)? Has your stress level increased?

a year ago I went to the derm and he told me there is a direct relation between whey protein and acne

I didn't even tell him I took it, he just asked me if I had been taking whey protein because I mentioned I had been working out more recently.

edit: Apple Cider Vinegar ftw

Well...

Well... I know it definately is the protein, cause I went off of it and my acne disappeared. I am just curious if it is the allmax... so I am going to test out another protein - Gold Standard 100% Whey.

My diet is clean clean clean... and have been working out for a while now. The only thing that confuses me is that when I took protein years ago it never had this effect on me.

yes...

Well I know my body really well and it takes about a week to 2 weeks to see changes. The protein was the only element that I changed in my diet. I also tried going back on it again and the acne came back. But this might just be the way my body reacts to it... Allmax protein otherwise is amazing... tastes great and mixes really well. Two thumbs up on all other accounts.

Thanks for all the great feedback! Cheers.
