Walden farms in contest prep?
I was wondering since alot of you guys also use walden farms products during your prep, how many servings of there products do you usually use a day. I noticed that I was coming out to about 4 to 5 tbsp a day between the zero cal ranch and caramel dipp. (That Caramel dipp + Natty pb + Chocolate dipp with whey frozen in a little container taste like ice cream.)

Seems to me that unless you need to start depleting sodium, there's really nothing wrong with that.

I utilize Walden Farm's products some. However, I recommend cutting them out about 2-3 weeks out just to be on the safe side. However minimal... they contain something...preservatives etc.. more than likely some calories.

Love Walden Farms....like said above, I cut out about 3 weeks before showtime. I use the Choc. Syrup and Maple Syrup.....keeps me sane.
This mornings breakfast
4 Egg-whites
1 Scoop Beverly Muscle Provider
1 cup oats
1 cup water
Mixed together to create a batter.....cooked like pancakes using Calorie free spray.....topped off w/ Walden Farms syrup. AWESOME!

i find that using stuff that makes contest prep food taste GOOD makes me want even more food that tastes GOOD. Drives me to fight off even more cravings. Kinda like the if you give a mouse a cookie principle, so I have been trying to stay clear of good ol' walden

they have their place. Obviously use them in moderation and keep them a good distance from contest day (like 3-4 weeks).

Here's the "new" deal for me. I use a little bit of Walden Farms products but I am cutting it out totally this coming Saturday @10 weeks out. That goes for splenda as well. I also consume a diet coke per day but going to cut it down to a 24 oz over the course of 3 days. I want no mistakes!!!!! No 2nd chances!!!!

I'm currently using about 1/4 bottle a day and will cut it out around 3 weeks out.

Too good to be true? I mean calorie free peanut butter sounds like a dream and theoretically you could eat a whole tub and its still no calories...If there is no peanuts...whats in it? Other than possible health risks...would it actually not effect a contest prep to eat all of these goodies?

Yes, there are calories(especially when you go over the serving size) and plenty of artificial ingredients, thats why if you are going to utilize these products, you should do so in careful moderation, and remove them at 2 weeks(or more) out.

Nutritional labels can always be a little off, althought lab reports about Walden Farms products have been nothing, but positive from what I hear. I used them during my last prep, not so much during this one. I am just better at making my food taste better this time around.
What I would like to say is that many of you need to be a little carefull when it comes to food that is market to wack job such as us. "No calorie" foods and all that other stuff made for "dieters." Companies are willing to manipulate their nutritional labels to make a buck, and quite often what is really in there can be just a little off. Often by 20%....
Just throwing that out there.

i've heard the peanut spread tastes like ass.. some of their stuff tastes pretty bad, other stuff tastes great. The chocolate syrup is probably the best/most authentic tasting, the caramel, marinara sauce, and spicy bbq sauce is pretty good. I have some of the grape spread and tastes disgusting.
They do contain trace calories, but honestly how much do these factor into your overall conditioning? Even if they amounted to 10 calories a day, this isn't going to make or break you by any means. Don't worry about 'em as far as caloric content

Thanks for your input Father Flex. I think it's something I'll try out off season and see how it goes.

Man, whatever happened to plain chicken and plain egg whites? My wife is always trying to get me to spice up my food because I eat plain tuna or plain chicken breast 7 meals a day. I could careless about food at this point, just a means to an end. Though next time around I may look into some of these products to see what I'm missing!

fake sweeteners, like the kind walden uses have less calories than regular table sugar and can be up to 600 times as sweet, so they need to use less of it to achieve the same effect.
most sugar alcohols, (pretty much any sugar ending in "-ol" or "-ose" like xylitol, maltitol, sucralose) have 2.4 kcals per gram, whereas regular sugar, being a carb has 4 kcals per gram. theyre really only 78% less calories by WEIGHT, but by amount used theyre much lower.
Cliffs:
they have calories, but not more than a stick of gum in most instances. walden makes their products using powdered extracts which are basically devoid of calories, pretty cool
