I Believe It Will Be Beneficial, Here's Why:
I've been wondering the same question a lot recently because of a couple studies that I have come accross.
They independently state that 1) protein intake first thing in the morning has been shown to drastically help with fat loss (read this in Tim Ferriss' book The Five Hour Chef), and 2) that our body naturally progresses through an anabolic state at night and a catabolic state during the day (I believe this was from a video by Elliott Hulse).
Assuming both of these statements are correct, taking Casein Protein first thing in the morning would promote fat burning while helping to counter the catabolic state naturally enduced by your body that burns muscle - leading to a leaner and more muscular body.
I'm not a doctor, nor am I a nutrition professional; I'm simply a health and fitness enthusiast doing what he can with what he's learned.
I hope this helped and that an early morning Casein intake works for you in the long run!

I say yes IF.... it's one of several sources of protein contained in the powder. U need a fast acting (whey) protein in the morning since u have not ate anything for several hours. But a blended protein containing both fast and slow release protein can be beneficial as well; in fact the best condition I think I was ever in without being on a pre- contest diet was two summer's ago. At that time I was using only one protein powder 4 times per day... and it was a blended protein..

Id do Whey immediately upon waking up then breakfast 30mins-1hr later and save the casein for after workout (mixed with whey) and before bed. But thats just my humble opinion

As long as you're not training immediately after it's fine.
I think too many get caught in the minutia, at the end of the day if you hit your protein allotment it becomes largely irrelevant what those specific protein sources were (provided they're quality complete ones).
Before we came out with select i used casein protein exclusively, I haven't ingested whey solo on a regular basis for years, and it definitely hasn't hurt my gains.PES Representative

Ideally you want that amino acid spike in the morning to kick of protein synthesis. Specifically you're looking for that 3 or so grams of leucine spike.
Casein is going to digest too slowly to get that spike so preferably you would want to use quicker absorbing proteins. Doesn't necessarily mean you need to slam down a shake, I think eggs are quicker absorbing than casein is going to be.Completed Logs & Reviews:
