one supplement to choose from
I currently take a multivitamin and have been very reluctant to take anything else. I'm just not a big believer in putting anything into my body. So the question is, if you were going to pick ONE thing that could help, what would it be?
I lift 5 days a week, btw and I run 2 miles a day, no designated "cardio day".

I think he got stuck on the "putting anything into my body"!!! Mind went straight into the gutter. Amazing...you spent enough time around perverts and you can actually learn to think like them!
To answer your question though, IMO, I'd definately take either flax oil, or fish oil, if I could only pick one.

Protein powder if you need to get in more protein, fish oil caps if you need more omega 3's, and creatine if you want a strength boost.

Yes it helps women too. I notice a difference between when I am on it, and when I'm not. Only thing is we have to (or get to) take less of it. You only need 1g/40g of bodyweight, or about .5 tsp. OR, if creatine mono makes you bloated, you can pay more and get a product like Green MAG (still only need .5 serving).

wow. did not know we are supposed to take less. i am currently taking creatine mono (just started up again cause of the carb cycling). so. i'll retract my protein comment, then, since it's already a staple of yours and i'll say creatine instead.

Yeah, 5g of creatine mono is intended for someone at 200 lbs. So it has to be scaled. Less lbm means less creatine needed.

I'm thinking Creatine is one of those things I'd rather not put in my body. But, in addition to the protein and Multi-Vitamin/Minerals(good ones) I would add Seren Oils (or CLA), and Fish Oil. As I get older (I'll be 65 this year, it seems harder to keep it off my middle and so I use alot of CLA,well, at least the optimum 3.6 gr per day. The owner of the place I buy my sups, and his wife and everyone who works there all have really cut and nice looking abdominals and mine look pretty good on it, too. But I've only heard about it and been using it for 4 months and most of them have used it for at least 2 years.
The thing that is so scary to me is that advertising will say anything that sounds good enuff to sell their products and not necessarily the truth, and I'm old enuff to remember when we were all real buff without all the stuff they push today. But, then, our food was more nutritious, too.

wow. at 65 i can only hope to still be active. good for you.
CLA sounds interesting.
funny cause i asked a trainer friend of mine about creatine. and he said i shouldn't take it. of course when i asked why he only said "cause i said so", so that doesn't really help me. lol

You run two miles a day and you're underweight. What you need is more food. Or cut back on the running.
I'm not big on supplements either. I'd rather get what I need from food. Which is good as I couldn't use them anyway due to multiple food intolerances. All I do take is a prescription vitamin D gelcap once a week.

underweight? at 135? i figured i was on the low end, 10 pounds ago i was def underweight...more food is a good start. i just don't want to get where i'm dependent on all this stuff, and spending hundreds of dollars i don't have on things i may or may not need.

Well your weight puts you in normal weight by the BMI scale, and I went to your bodyspace and saw your latest pic, you look ok to me.
I know what you mean about spending so much, I used to spend a LOT and I decided enough is enough one day, and cut back. Although this is really my only hobby, so I either spend money on supplements, clothing or bank it!

Hmmmm~~~Banking money~~~now there is an interesting concept. I prolly spend $200.00 and more each month and lately I've been thinking "too much".
My muscles are so developed I've been called "Sir" 4 times in the last week....grrrrrrrrr.
Maybe I'm doing too much. Last night I checked out the hotnfit.com site and read all kinds of things. I think I overdo cardio sometimes and I'm not sure about my ab workout. I just finished it for today and it consists of lots of pilates, at least 1000 reps, and some weights and I love doing the 'ab vacumn' while I'm dancing.
The peeps that own the store where I buy all my stuff are sayin I should get into an 'over 50' competition and I laughed and said I already am. It's called the Longevity Competition.
Anyway, I'm prolly not going to give up my Whey protein isolate, enzymes and probiotics, vitamins, and the CLA and Fish Oil I swear by and, of course~~~
ALL of you on this site that inspire me to keep going. You're awesome....not to mention HAWT!!!

I love my No Xplode and of course I always supplement with a good protein powder! I consider protein powder food so I never do without it! But after having a pre training supplement such as No Xplode ( have tried vapor and loved it the same) its the best thing that happened to me...hahaha
