I have to have them custom made because if I buy a shirt that fits in the neck and sleeve length, you can fit an extra person in the midsection.

i've done it in the past, the tie kinda holds the collar up instead of the button. but it isn't a huge deal, cuz the place i work right now doesn't require ties.

exactly. i have like two dress shirts that i can button to the top but it basically chokes me. both of these shirts are too big in the torso/arms. i guess imma have to start getting dress shirts custom made.....

i haven't bought a dress shirt since freshman year of high school. only thing i was concerned with at the time was the size of the shirt itself. thanks for your concern about my mental health though

I just leave it unbuttoned and cinch the tie to cover it up. Works for me...better than buying a huuuuuge shirt and looking like ****.

yeah thats what i have done until now whenever i needed to wear a tie. but i have one semester left before i graduate, and i guess investing in one or two custom fit dress shirts/suits would be good for interviews/meetings/etc

i'm retarded because standard dress shirts that fit well in the torso/arms don't fit my neck? my only option is to get a shirt custom fit, and i have had no reason to do so until recently. and yes, plz help me wipe

You're retarded because you haven't bought a new dress shirt in 8 years - that's probably half the problem why it doesn't fit. The next would be, buy one that fits based on neck size, THEN torso size. Sure it might have some baggy material but tuck it in FTW.

still don't see how that makes me retarded. why would i waste money on something that i already have? 9 times out of ten when i wear a dress shirt its to go to work, a club, or nice restaurant (no tie neccessary) i haven't bought new ones because i've recieved hand-me-downs that fit well (in the torso/arms). like i said above, i have a couple that i can just barely button at the neck but are very baggy. if i shop for the neck first (at regular stores), i'm gunna look like a poofy shirted pirate. if i need a shirt to fit in the neck so i can wear a tie for an interview or something, im not gunna waste money on a shirt that doesn't fit my body at all.

damn, ur neck must be gettin swole son.

if you show up to a formal event with a shirt that doesn't look like it can be buttoned all the way, you are going to look like a low-class clown. this is fine if you're just with friends, but if you want to impress someone, like an interviewer, you need to show that you know how to dress.

its well worth the investment IMO.
