    Long VS. Short Cardio Sessions

what is better in your guys opinion? I am usually doing about 4-5 hours of cardio a week and lift weights 4x per week but, i feel the cardio might be burning me out a bit. If I were to do 2-3 hours per week over 6 days but, at a higher intensity, would this be better? I am currently trying to add a little muscle and strength while keeping my bodyfat in check or trying to reduce it a bit. Thanks.

I'm trying to SLOWLY cut so that sounds about like your goals.
I PERSONALLY do about 20-25min of higher intensity cardio after weights (4days/week). Then on my two off days I do longer sessions (45-60min) with a slightly lower intensity (usually a 5min warm-up, 20min of intervals, 15-30min of steady-state, 5min cooldown).

But as I said, this is ME! if you feel you should cut down your cardio then do it! Just tighten up the diet to make sure you're not putting on fat and it's all gravy...

I start out when I am trying to cut with 15 min a day of interval cardio 5 days a week. When I start to plateau I will either start dropping some cals or up the cardio.

I used to do 40 minute cardio sessions but it's just SO boring and tiring to sit on an exerbike every day and spin for 40mins staying in the same place. I now do 15-20mins once or twice a day and actually enjoy it. And if I want more cardio I just go outside for a walk in the park or somewhere, much more pleasant

5 hours of cardio per week when trying to gain strength and size is a bit too much.

Try doing lower intensity cardio after lifting and higher intensity on off days.

    x2

I can't do HIIT after a workout, i don't have the energy to finish. I prefer some light paced cardio after lifting, kinda cools you down and you get the runners high, feels good.
