Ouch, my calves are killing me!

So i love squats, and lunges and the whole nine, they feel great when I'm doing them. The next few days are killer though, I can barely walk. Work is unbearable. My calves and quads hate me. I walk around smelling like bengay and looking like an 80 yo lady with two hip replacements haha. I stretch, I take warm baths, maybe a little ibuprofen here and there. I love running and its impossible for 4 days after I do legs. Every single step burns. HELP!

The only help is to keep doing what you are doing. It is always worse in the beginning. It will get better. You'll still get sore, but not the intense soreness of a beginner. Eat well, rest the legs, but don't stop moving them.

That's funny cause I've been worrying about the opposite. I don't get as sore as much anymore and I was wondering if I was doing something wrong. Glad to know that intense soreness is reserved for beginners

Might want to try reducing the weight to something more bearable, then gradually increase it again once you feel you're able to handle a heavier load.

I love feeling sore from legs. When I do the same routine for too long (like 2 weeks) I quit getting sore, so I switch up my workout. This might help you get you're soreness back

Thanks everyone for the replies. But I'm a runner and I've always worked my legs squats, lunges etc, Its just that recently I literally cannot walk and I work in a hospital. I don't have a choice but to be on my feet all day. My technique is good, I'm just wondering what it is I'm doing wrong. Its def beyond sore, its searing pain up my calves, or down my quads usually for 4 days. And I have a good tolerence for pain. How many times does everyone do legs per week. I'm wondering if I split my legs into two days I might get better results.
