Please help an aging 24 year old...

Hey Guys - *first post*

Sorry to come along in here and immediatley start complaining - but I'm semi new to lifting but have been a "seasonal" exerciser my whole life, you know how it goes...but I'm really excited to start training properly with some concrete goals and dont want anything to stand in my way...so, when all of a sudden my knees and wrists start giving me jip after any kind of training - I'm inclined to get a bit upset!! I'm only 24 but I feel old and knackered!

The pain in my knee is across the top just under the cap, and my wrists its a sharp ache right inside the joint. What can I do about it? I'm pretty sure my form is okay because I'm a gym instructor by trade...I've had my technique looked at and have had no negative comments...

I did suffer from an eating disorder for 10 years...Im really upset to think I may have caused this myself? Please help!

xxx

Do you have any flexability issues. I once could not do pushups with my hands flat on the ground as my forearm muscles were very tight causing pain in the wrist joint.

my sit-and-reach is about 4cm *shameful I know* and I have been told by a registered postural analyser that the tightness in my hams and calves could be causing the knee pain. But The fact that my wrists are now jumping on board led me to think it was more likely to be a real joint health issue?

When I first started to really exercise I could not even touch my toes on the sit and reach.

Did you have any x-rays or MRI done on your wrists to see
what the problem is. ?

To help alleviate tightness I take magnesium supplements, and stay well hydrated, and stretch well after any weight exercises.

does your family have a history of joint pain? and is there any inflamation around the joints?

my mom has suffered from back issues since youth to help she took (takes) fish oils daily, i have followed suit and so far no serious problems.

I'd suggest looking at your diet and make sure that you are getting a good balance of vits and minerals. if you are new to 'serious' training, as you sure that you are not pushing too hard too soon?
