How many of us you workout first thing in the morning? I would like for anyone to tell me something i can take. Pre-workout meal i can take just before my trip to the gym. Egg protien, Whey protein? carbs? Please help me. Serious answers only.
Heres an example of my day.
5:00am wake up
5:10am Myoplex Protien with Hydroxycut Hardcore
5:30am Take NaNo Vapor and hit gym
:::Strength Training 45Min
:::20 Min Cardio
7:00am Myoplex Protein
10:00am Breakfast
12:30pm lunch
3:30Pm Protein shake
6:00pm Dinner
9:00Pm casien protein
Really looking for a good pre-work drink i can take since i get up and go right to the gym basically. Thanks for all your inputs

I'd really go for whey protein + carbs or maybe essential amino acids (EAAs) + carbs since it appears that you hit the gym right after waking up.

I do this. Night before mix it.
1/2 cup oats
1 tbsp natty pb
2 scoops whey
Enough milk to make a pudding consistency. Refrig overnight.
I eat this upon waking and also take carbs throughout my workout.
I would add some oats to the 3:30 meal also or use a MRP

Great Idea.
When I'm strapped for time and I need to do an AM workout, I usually make a shake of:
1 Cup Oats
A little Almond Butter
2 Scoops of Vanilla Whey
You have your protein, carbs, and fat in a quick 2 minute shake.

That could be quite heavy for someone that isn't used to all of that. I sure as hell can't workout right away after consuming a shake with a cup of oats in there.

5:00am wake up
5:10am Myoplex Protien with Hydroxycut Hardcore (i think myoplex is casein and you would be better with whey or mixed proteins. you just woke up and you need some quick protein)
5:30am Take NaNo Vapor and hit gym
:::Strength Training 45Min
:::20 Min Cardio
7:00am Myoplex Protein
10:00am Breakfast
12:30pm lunch
3:30Pm Protein shake (good to see you keep the protein in a good cycle)
6:00pm Dinner
9:00Pm casien protein (same as last)
Really looking for a good pre-work drink i can take since i get up and go right to the gym basically. Thanks for all your inputs
i added a little imput on that
and i hate it but i work in the morning also. in the summer it should be easier for me to hit it at night.

i workout at 6 a.m. at school and at home my schedule is like this
wake up about 5
stretch a little bit till 5:15 to get loosened up
Eat breakfast 5:30 - 3/4 cup oats, 1 large banana, 1 cup milk , 2tbsp of Natty PB, 1.5 scoop whey
Gym at 6
PWO Meal - 7:30
PPWO Meal - 8:30
You got to fuel that body before hitting the gym,
IF YOUR NOT GETTING A MEAL: i would suggest getting complex carbs in your last meal before bed to give you some energy for your workouts. Even on a cut it will be fine, but you would be better off getting a quick shake or something before the gym, wake up and have a scoop of whey mixed with oats /banana to give you some fuel.

I get up at 4am, slam a muscle milk shake
Macros= 300cal/12gfat/16gcarb/32gprotein quick and easy preworkout
4:45 Mix 1 scoop of storm (creatine) with one scoop Shock Therapy (NO/Caffeine+)
5:00 Hit the gym and start training
I find this combo gives me enough energy to make it through an hour of training

I've worked out first thing in the morning for about 6-7 years. I have the same bloated feeling if I have too much in my stomach. Here's my current protocol:
5:00 wake up with Basic Cuts & Lean Extreme
5:15 2 pieces of 12 grain bread*
5:30 2 scoops Purple Wraath & 1 scoop Green Mag
5:45 6-10 minutes elliptical followed by stretch
6:00 lift
Immediately after workout have 2 scoops whey w/carb drink
Eat food mean 30-60 minutes later
*I eat the bread to prevent stomach issues with PW & GM. If I take those on empty stomach I will have bowel problems during workout (amplified if I am on a NO product).

repps for good advice.
yea.
i wake up at 5:30 and get to the gym by about 5:50.
the only reason i go to the gym in the morning is becuase it helps me go to sleep at night. if i go in the evening i have trouble sleeping...
when i wake up i just make a shake and drink it before and during my workout.
after my work out i eat breakfast:
3 egg whites
fruit
oatmeal (non-flavored)
... (other meals and shakes as the day goes on)
is this bad, or is there something i can do to make it more effective with out just changeing my workouts to evenings??

well you left out the most important piece of info......what is your goal? are you bulking or are you cutting? that will depend on what you put in your body. i workout out in the early AM (4:00am) and if i'm cutting my diet the night before and pre work out are specific, low (if any carbs) the afternnon and night before and also none in the morning. if i'm bulking it's almost the oppisite (within reason of course). so what are you doing......what goals do you have?

don't be a pussy. BTW it's 1/2 cup and I have never had digestion issues with oats. I think the milk could cause issues but I only use a splash to make it pasty and eat it with a spoon. As for chugging 16oz of milk with that in there that may yield some stomach discomfort.

I often times lift right away in the morning. I'll wake at like 8:30a be to the gym at 9. I have seen many different articles saying its better to lift 5-7 at night instead of 5-7 in the morning, the later people had lower body fat and more muscle growth in the study, but not everyone has a schedule where they can do that or would want to. Oh so anyway I wake up take all my pills and take two scoops of whey in water and go. I know I should get some sort of carb in there but I never do. I almost can't eat breakfast it makes me sick, just the shake is kinda sickening. Then when I get back I have two more scoops of whey with sugar, koolaid or sometimes an energy drink the red amp tastes soo good. But I'm trying to get rid of the amp because of the high fructose corn syrup. Is high fructose corn syrup ok after a workout? Or is there really no place in anyones diet for it?

For those of you who eat oats, are you saying that you mix dry oats in a shaker bottle with other stuff (whey protein, peanut butter, etc..) and just consume all of this at once? Do you not microwave the oats beforehand?...because i didn't know that you could just eat dry oats without microwaving or cooking them in some way first. If you put dry oats in a shaker bottle with other stuff you would have to chew it first instead of just slamming it all down, right?
Also--what type of oats are you taking about? Are instant quaker oats ok?...or should i avoid the instant oats and go for some other kind? Please fill me in. Thanks

This is the first time I ever heard of training in the AM is not as good as training in the PM. That's interesting.
I wake up everyday around 4:30 AM. I drink a protein shake that consists of 2 Scoops Whey Protein Isolate and 1/2 Cup Ground Oats. I drink this and then hit the gym approx. 30 minutes later.
At the gym I drink 6 scoops of Xtend in about 20 ounces of water and do my workout. After that it's Post Workout Shake and on with my normal day.
This works very well for me.

I've always heard that training in the AM is better because of the fact that your testosterone levels are hightest at this time.
