Optimal Show Day Load
Just putting this out there for thoughts. I do not respond well to alot of starches. They make me bloated so for my last show, my coach loaded me more with rice cakes & jelly and banana chips.
For show day, I did a fat load (steak & eggs for brekkie, some chicken & nuts before pre-judging, chicken salad with oily dressing between judging & finals.) It seemed to work well but when I had a few treats (trail mix, candy corn) before finals I really started to pop & became more vascular. Ironically, the more fat/sugar I had the harder I became. The next day it was amazing how hard & tight things still were.
So what's best? Do I add a few "sugary" bites right before pre-judging instead to bring out more vascularity? I know it's pretty experimental & this is my first season. I'm actually cutting starches this last couple weeks to see if that helps tighten me up but wonder how to handle day of show. More specifically, what should I add to increase vascularity & fullness. I think something added to the nuts would have been beneficial.
I'm interested in your experiences & just learning more of what works best to dial in better for my next show on May 24th!
