Ideal weight for cutting

I am 5'11 and currently 155 pounds. Since I starting lifting again I have put on almost 10 pounds. The most I have ever weighed was 162 pounds back when I was in Marine Corp boot camp. With my height what would be the ideal weight for me to start cutting for definition instead of bulking. I am thinking of trying to get to 165 and cut from there.

There is no ideal weight for cutting really when you feel you are getting to fat you can start cutting. You want to build some good muscle on you. I would recomend you trying to go to 190-200 and then cut because you seem pretty skinny and look like you could use the extra thickness. Once you are around 200 putting in mind that you havent put on loads of fat you would probably need to lose 10-15 pounds max to be cut up. Btw i dont mean to be insulting but arent marines like completely jacked? I thought that was one of the things about being a marine like you have to be in insane muscular and cardiovascular shape.

you have to be able to run and shoot that is about it. To max out the physical fitness test you have to run 3 miles in 18 min, 100 crunches in 2 min, and 20 pull ups. We have pretty strick weight limits also. Each height has a max weight and you have to be below 18% body fat. You actaully see more skinny Marines then cock diesel marines because if they are not careful they get kicked out.
