Question Problem area!! Help!!

So i have been very happy with the results i have been getting for my upper body, BUT like most woman, my butt and hips just don't seem to tone up and go down in inches!!!
I do leg training once a week which includes various exercises like lunges with a weight (preacher curl bar) on my shoulders, squats on the bosu ball, regular squats with a weight, leg press!
I am really trying to work on my inner thighs but cant seem to come up with any good exercises that would target that area!

Should i be doing my legs twice a week or will that just make them bulky?
Are there any exercises anyone could suggest to me?

How heavy are you lifting? Rep scheme? Order of exercises? When was the last time you changed your training? And no, training legs 2x/week won't make them bulky. Have you ever tried any plyometrics? What's your cardio? Diet? Stats (height/wt)...sorry for all the questions, but it helps to have more info!

sorry for the late response!

So i usually do 12 reps of 3 sets
I generally start with the lunges or basic squats
lunges & free standing squats i hold a 20pd preacher curl weight
squats on the squat machine (i can;t remember what its called?) is 30 pds!
I will spend about 30mins on leg training.

Im 5'4 118pds- i have to admit i do eat a low carb diet- round 1000cals a day 5x a week and allow myself to eat what i like on the weekend.
I do 3 days of weight training (with 30mins of cardio on those days) and 2 other days of 1 hour cardio.
4x a week i walk my dog for an hour as well!

Wow you are WAY too low in your calories especially given the amount of cardio that you are doing. You're sending your body into starvation mode so your body is going to hold onto any fat that you have. You need to up your calories and don't focus on the scale when you do this. You may gain a couple pounds at first as your body adjusts.

Have you ever tried DB Plie Squats?? What about varied foot postitioning on leg press.. i know a great one for the glutes.. lol i did 2x 20 (wide and toes pointed out) and then after you finish those do 2x20 feet togehter postioing.. no joke my glutes were sooooo sore the next day and from all the other leg exercises

Try doing plyometric stuff.. maybe superset your workouts w/ them.


Get the bulky thing out I train legs 2x a week and sometimes 4 beacuse i divide them up into quads and hams. ex: quads/chest.. or something like that.. divide them up. I have found that my legs progressed very nicely along w/ cardio

Yep...calories WAY too low! You're also at the low end of the weight range for your height..I would get those calories up there..nothing wrong w/ carbs, esp. pre and post workout!
