There are days like yesterday when you have a GREAT workout, but then there are also days like today in the life of a bodybuilder.
First off, I woke up this morning, took a piss, chilled for 5 minutes and went to weigh myself. Yesterday I weighed in at 162 flat. I ate 3000 calories yesterday and was fairly active. I weighed in today at 161.5 lbs. WTF?! lol. I guess I need to eat more? Strange stuff. My metabolism is still speeding up from the diet I was on I guess. I'm going out to eat with my brother tonight so that should help get in some extra calories.
But anyways, the workout. Deadlifts sucked. Normally I don't have a grip problem since I use straps but today was different. I honestly think it was the bar at the gym, and I'm not saying that to make excuses. I did one set easily but had to stop because my grip was giving out. I tried maybe 3 more times and none did anything so I decided "**** this, I'm not going to waste my time and energy doing this" and stopped. I'm debating taking deadlifts out and replacing with SLDL for hams. I may.
Hack Squats are awesome though and I was pretty satisfied with these. I REALLY feel these in the quads, more so than regular squats. If there is a hack squat machine in your gym, I HIGHLY recommend giving it a go sometime, I can feel the fibers splitting with this exercise!
You may notice that my hamstring exercises are down in weight a little bit. The seated leg curl machine in the new gym is COMPLETELY different than from my old gym. it took me a while to understand how it worked and even then, I looked like a moron doing it. Time will hopefully change this!
Same sorta thing with lying leg curls. Not so much the machine, but rather the weight. I honestly think my old gym inflatted the weight on the machines so It looked like you were doing more weight than you were. That may sound ridiculous, but I actually read the weights on the cable machine there and it said something like "Note: all weights are 1/2 their actual size". So go figure lol.
I was really disappointed and angry in the gym, but I've cooled off now. Despite the deadlift fiasco, I feel that I still got a good workout in. I plan on eating, working, and resting today and hitting some HIIT tomorrow.*Boston Misc Crew*

LOL. Same routine every morning. Wake up, piss, wait 5 minutes or so, weigh myself, get happy or pissed, go eat breakfast, wait 45 minutes, workout!
This leg curl machine is so strange. Like you would think it would be a simple machine to use but NOPE. You have to adjust the seat, leg thingy, and how far up the machine goes. It's like a puzzle how to make it fit your body type!*Boston Misc Crew*

hack squats were legit there rigit, you really took care of the workout after the deadlift fiasco, dont let that settle to your head man, overall the workout was killer, and to throw in some sport leg extensions topped the cake bud.
Enjoy the night out tonight with the fam, ill be working my ass off

Well you had a good workout today, but that must suck with the deads. Try using straps, you wouldn't have a problem at all. Or use gloves...just a suggestion. I honestly wouldn't remove them from your program all together, but you know your body best so do what you think you have to. I'm not sure why you started your first lift of the session so high. 5x295 is too high to start with, unless you warmed up and didn't write it in.
Eat big with your bro today. Good luck.I'm in for the rep trade... Jus' sayin'.

Thanks for your words Lazy! Always appreciated and enjoyed!
I do have straps and used them. I don't know why they were sucking so bad though.
I warm up, I just don't list them haha. That was my first "working" set.*Boston Misc Crew*

Pretty good workout today. Definitely got a great pump and I am really fatigued lol.
Chest exercises went pretty well. My chest is probably my weakest part of my body, both physically and aesthetically. Because of this, my bench sucks and I have to do a lot to bring it up lol. I try not to let my ego take it's toll in the gym, but I'd be lying to you if I said that I wish my bench was higher. None theless it still felt great!
I got kinda angry at inclines because normally I do them first and I'm a lot stronger then. When I did my first set, I got 10 but it took me about 4-5 solid seconds to get the last rep. I did the rest after getting a feel for it. The new gym has a different incline than my old one, even at it's lowest it is probably just about 45 degrees so it felt a little different.
Now you may be thinking "Mike, What the **** is biangluar incline press machine?". Well thats exactly what i was thinking when I saw it. I figured "What the hell! Lets give it a go!" and I'm glad I did. The handles are set up vertically instead of horizontally. When I did this I REALLY felt it in the upper, outer region of my chest, a place that is somewhat hard to hit. I got a great pump from these as well.
Unlike my chest, My back is probably my best bodypart in both aspects. It's very rare for me to have a "bad" back workout. Todays workout was great and I really felt the contraction of the back. By the end of rows, I was friggin dead. I'm definitely taking a nap today lol.
Tomorrow is shoulders/arm hypertrophy, 4th of july, AND I'M WORKING UNTIL 8! **** MY LIFE!*Boston Misc Crew*

Pretty good workout today. Definitely felt it all around and feel like I did some fiber splitting!
Shoulders went well as usual. They are one of my strongest and largest parts of my body and they never give me trouble. Next week I plan on using the 55's for the first two sets and the 60's for the last 2. I'm still feeling strong. I do these very slow and controlled, going below parallel and holding for a second at the bottom. They burn!
One of my objectives for this offseason is to bring up my triceps, especially the long head. I figured I would do some shock training to accomplish this. I did 2 exercises just to warm up the triceps and to assure that no injury would result of this. Then I went into the training. The 55 rep sets are absolutely killer. What is done is that your objective is to get 55 reps with good form as efficient as possible. Basically, when you are fatigued so you can no longer do another clean rep, rack the weight and rest for a few seconds and then continue, however you MUST hit failure to do that. It's tiring but it worked last offseason with my legs! You can do this with any bodypart or exercise, try it out sometime.
Biceps went well too. You may be asking what are "jim cordova barbell curls". Well Jim Cordova is a pro natural bodybuilder who has ridiculous mass. He is definitely the biggest pro natty out there. Anyways, he is known for his ridiculous biceps mass and peaks. I was looking at his website and he does his curls in a different way then most people. Sort of like the sporto method, you lock your elbows to your side, raise the weight with a count of three, pause, and lower for a count of three. I decided to give these a go and DAMN. I couldn't use the same amount of weight I normally do but I felt a MUCH greater burn. I'll link the site/exercise here.
http://www.jimcordova.com/videos/videos.php?id=14
Overall, a good workout. I upped my calories because I actually lost half a pound yesteday with my calories in the 3000-3050 range. They are up to 3200 now with the breakdown being
75g fat
405g carbs
225g protein
