    Protein before Workout?

I remember when I worked out years ago it was always recommended to not ingest much protein immediately before you workout (say 30mins). Since coming back I see now in many places it is recommended to take protein before the workout. I am assuming this is because of the advantages in protein supplements which quicker absorption and what not.

I usually take a whey iso shake 30 mins before workout and then another one immediately after the workout. Do most of you guys also take in some protein around 30 mins before a workout?
