I am supposed to get some blood work done next week for life insurance and thought I read somewhere that you should stop taking certain things prior to having blood work done. Just curious if anyone knows more about this. I am currently taking white flood, green mag, and 100% whey. Anyone know if any of this will effect the results. Thought I read something about stopping things like NO drinks 30 days prior or something. Also does anyone know if they can tell if you smoke cigarettes on these tests? I am a very casual smoker and don't want to end up paying higher rates if I'm labeled as a smoker if I can just postpone it a little and make sure not to smoke. We were out of town and I had a few cigarettes then found out that my wife scheduled the blood work for this Friday. Thanks for the help.

Why take NO the day prior? Or do you mean stop taking it at least a day prior? I would answer no to smoking. I really don't smoke but occasionally if I go out with friends that do I will have a couple. That was the situation this weekend. Went to a casino so sat at the blackjack table and had a few.
