hey guys, i have a quick question, which is a better breakfast, but also keep me awake during the day?
Ego plain waffles with peanut butter (how many of these should i have?)
or
Maple and brown sugar oatmeal (quaker)
I know most of you will be saying the oatmeal, but i just cant take that stuff everyday... I have it every other day, and waffles for the inbetween days...
Any opinions about these foods/ breakfast cycle?
Thanks
Im 14 if anyones wondering....

if you are 14 and lifting heavy and are into sports...... both, but you need some protein in there somewhere. Maple and brown sugar is so damn tasty. Too much sugar for me, but you are young, go for it.
If you are trying to be healthy or lose fat, then neither. Like tmac said, i would switch to regular oats and throw some good tasting protein in it. With some fruit either in it or with the meal.

yea, im into sports and am lifting.... Im not trying to lose weight or anything, because im already a slim figure, and i need to gain weight for football.... For the protein part, wouldnt the peanut butter give it protein for the waffles? The peanut butter has 8g of protein in 2 teaspoons, i use more than that.... So wouldnt that work?

You say ur 14, but ur age says your 42..
how old are you?
Both are garbage.. buy quaker oats in bulk and make those adding whatever you like, whey protein, syrups, fruits(bananas/berries), Cinnamon/cocoa powder, peanut Butter are all good substitues
WW beads slap with PB or SF Jelly/Jam
Make your own waffles with cottage cheese, vanilla, baking powder, Oats, Cinnamon, and some egg whites, mash up a banana, beat it up and make pancakes/waffles.
Lots of better alternatives then what you provided above. Stick away from the sugary crap in boxes from the store, and buy the bulk and make the better choices.
Peanut Butter is a FAT SOURCE, leave it at that, get whole food protein like eggs, chicken, turkey, drink some milk, use some whey protein

qft
Unless he wants to be healthy and eat clean. I would encourage that for sure. But at 14, whatever you do, enjoy your life while you can.
Plain Oats can be healthy and absolutely delicious though. I would much rather have my oats every day than that crap. I love them. Waffles, peanut butter and syrup are awesome, but they don't taste as good as it feels to be getting lean and muscular with healthy food.

wait you gotta explain that one
well if for some reason u cant have eggs, theirs plenty of ways to make oats palatable. for starters, i actually have a multgrain (rye barley oats wheat) which is a little better because its got some texture. if syrup or brown sugar dont do it, try some cinnamon, or my favorite, mix a little jelly in and it gives it a fruit flavor.
but yes you are 14. when i was 14 i had count chocula and pork roll every morning (ok ok i still eat those things), so live it up, your metabolisms probably great.
