Probolic-SR by MHP good or bad?

I have been taking Whey protein for a while now. However, have been researching other protein based supplements in which I would like to switch over too. Does anyone have any pros or cons with the probolic-SR time released protein? Is time released protein even worth looking at?

I am trying to stick just to a low calorie high protein shake. It will be taken with water and possibly fresh fruit. I am on a clean diet right now, high in protein and would like the supplement to compliment the diet. I am currently 204 and have dropped 34LBS in 10 weeks.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

When i started working out i used to take pro-bolic. it tastes pretty good and i gained lean muscle pretty quickly. it only has 20 grams of protein in one big scoop though so you go through a container in like a week and a half or two weeks if you drink 2 shakes a day.

Congrats on your weight loss, what exactly are you looking for with the protein? Is it a meal replacement, or something pre-bed? Looking at the ingredients for probolic, it doesn't look that great. There are better options in my opinion. Do you want a whey/casein blend, or straight casein? Or you looking for egg or milk protein as well?

probolic is an inferior protein blend starting with soy aside from its poor amino acid profile it contains bad phytoestrogens. calcium caseinate follows witch is a poor quality protein it's not bad to see in a blend but should be further down the line.

whey is great for a quick digestable protein its ideal for post work out. a blend is better for a meal replacement and pre bed

ergopharm gfpro is a quality whey protein or you could look at oryx goat whey (goat milk is the closest to human milk) or go with the standard on 100%

some quality blends are
cytosport muscle milk
ergopharm mass meal
san infusion
xtream formulation ultra peptide and ultra peptide 2.0

if you're looking for something similar to probolic sr, but with a better profile, and much cheaper (4.4 lbs for $27), check out Dymatize Elite 12-Hour. people say the fudge brownie flavor is good, but i can't find it anywhere. i have the regular chocolate.

Probolic-SR is more of a meal replacement/nighttime protein to fight off catabolism. I would never use it post workout. The high casein content means you will be absorbing it very slowly, and would sorta clog up the works a bit while it expands in your belly.

Go get some whey isolates/peptides for post-workout and general use. I use ON 100% Whey.

Thank for the compliment. I am looking for a post workout protein, that I can drink when I get back from the gym.

However, I would also like a protein drink that I could take before bed. Most of the time I hit the gym late around 9pm-11pm because of my work schedule so I would not double up I would probably stick to the post work out blend.

But going further into it, I work weird hours and sometimes dont always get around to cooking the correct foods. As I said I am on a clean diet and keeping it that way and would like a blend that could be there for a meal replacement. With that being said, I dont know if I should go for a single Whey protein (ON 100% Whey is on the top of the list) or if I should get a multitude of proteins for the specific cases I need it for?

well just get a pure whey, and a pure casein of the same flavor, and you can mix them as needed. i usually use dymatize whey, and either ON 100% casein or universal milk & egg for my slow digesting protein.

I think a whey/casein blend would probably benefit you. It is good for post workout, and can be used as a pre-bed shake. Add some oats and PB and it would probably suffice as a MRP as well. Xtreme Formulations Ultra Peptide is a pretty popular blend, and the taste is amazing. ISS Micellar Matrix is another good one, and ON just released its Nitro-Core 24, which has got some good reviews thus far as well.

Probolic does have a blend of multi protein powders. It will indeed last the whole night while u sleep. I've used it as night every night and my body responds great to it. Try a whey protein during the day but use Probolic at night.

price aside, i have nothing but satisfied with probolic. it's simply do good for me for anytime protein supplement: extra protein on breakfast, pre workout, post workout, and before bed time.

gram per gram protein, it's one of the most expensive though.

Yeah, MHP Probolic-SR is a good time released protein suitable for in the morning, pre-workout and before bedtime.
I love it but it's pricey though.

You might look at Dymatize Elite 12 Hours as a cheaper alternative.

Personally I dont care for any of the ones mentioned. I strongly urge you to take a look at CNP Profesional Propeptide. I like this protein so much that if I were given only one choice for a protein this would be the one.

You get high quality proteins, a superior "night time" (as most call it) blend. Were talking Casein, WPI/High-Fraction WPC/Hydrolyzed (mix) Whey, and Egg. PLUS you get digestive support (so many "high end" proteins lack this crucial support) because it contains live cultures. Of all the products I see on the market used by friends/aquaintences this is one I see used a lot by more seasoned builders with results on them already.

The only other one aside from CNPs that I think is as good or better is SANs Infusion. And to throw yet another recommendation out there check out Xtreme Formulations Ultrapeptide 1 or 2.0 although I think the Whey content is a tiny too high % wise to last as long as the other two mentioned.
