Teens ! Help me pick my first car !!!!!!!!!!

I'm buying in about 3 weeks but I'm a bit nervous and I'm still open to opinions

Budget is $ 6500

This is my FIRST choice !!!

Mitsubishi Eclipse '99 RS or GS

These are just other things I have in mind.

Nissan sentra possibly the SER 2002-2004

VW passat '99

Integra

04' Mazda 3

Please guys help me out w/ ur thoughts and stuff I'm keeping this thread alive until Im about to purchase it.

Plz share thoughts about - theft possibilities , maintainance , parts , insurance etc....

And any other cars you guys think I should give a thought

ide buy the one with best gas mileage... with gas prices these days I put around 15 dollars in my car everyday

Get the integra man, its reliable, fun to drive, has lots of possible mods, and looks pretty good

Only problem is theft and the possible insurance backlash from that, but maybe changing the lock system would improve that

Integra looks flashy, IMO, but go for the one with the best mileage. Gas prices are only going to go up, so you might as well.

whatever you do please dont buy a stupid ricer car, with lound obnoxious exhaust and a rear spoiler on a car that has front wheel drive...

Lol I have a cavalier and I think its hilarious when I see people with a cavalier with the muffler loudener **** and literaly a HUGE spoiler that you would see on drift racing cars.

If not, I'd look into Mustangs. I got mine for 4.5 grand...

Also, I looked into A LOT of late 90s Eclipses...they have TONS of problems, they made their WORST cars in the late 90s. After 03 it starts to get better...

Yea integra's and civics have REALLY high theft insurance plus tegs are SO common , the passats , the 1.8s are TROUBLE

Lol mustang ,, gas is 119 cents a litre , yea I'm so iffy about the eclipse I don't see many people with them and I wonder why , I read they have significant problems

i see about 50 every day in my schools parking lot, cavilers, cobalts, civics, focuses, subarus all decked on with ricer sticker decals and subwoofers cranked all the way blastin some 40 cent or w/e, love those cool guys

I'd get the integra.

Keep in mind the miles on all the cars. If the integra had 150k while the sentra had 50k, id get the sentra.

Heh, I love my mustang, I wouldn't give it up for anything.

But yeah, they have MANY problems (many problems with timing belts...they're notorious for that.)

When i was in highschool it was turbo diesels.

Cummin or strokin all over the place

Rather be Dmax'n. Cummins is a great engine, I just really don't care for the truck (dodge) and Powerstrokes are ok.......... the 7.3s are, the 6.0 was a disaster. Also strokers are loud as hell when warming up in the cold, damn HEUI injection.

I'd have to say Integra as my first pick because I know from personal experience that those guys just keep running, but I also like the Passat.

Is gas a problem?

Try to get a Civic with an engine swap, if you like tuners..

If I had to go with a tuner type car, Id go with a Twin Turbo Supra, Or a Mazda RX-7..

Other than that, I hate tuners completely.. srry.. haha

OK I LIVE IN CANADA !^......You know how hard it is to find supras and rx7's over here, and when you do they sell on average for $27,000+..I don't want any muscle cars so they can suck on gas.

HAHAHAHAHA 6500$ budget buddy, a tt mk4 supra is around 3-4 times that and rotarys just suck worse then dsms. but if your worried about reliability stay away from dsms(1g,2g eclipses and talons and a few other cars)

edit: i didnt see u wanted a n/a eclipse, they are fine because they use a 420a thats a alot more reliable then the 4g63(7bolt)

vw's have electrical problems and gay ass motors to repair. if ur not mechanically inclined honda or acura ftw or gs rs eclipse!

Just say no to rice.

I suggest looking into an LT1 or LS1 F-body, if you can afford the gas and insurance. And if you don't think that's a good idea, take a ride or test drive in one. You'll see/feel the difference.

I built my 98 Z28 into a naturally aspirated 11 second monster. If you have any F-body questions, PM me.

BTW: I sold my mechaniclly solid, good looking <70k miles 11 second Z28 several months ago for exactly $6,500. I, however, would suggest buying stock or clsoe to it no matter what you get.
