How tied to your workout is your mood ?
I had 3 busy days were I couldn't make it to the gym. No cardio, no weights for 3 days. Just too much going on. At the end of the 3 days I was a miserable sloth. I felt run down, tired, and just out of sorts.
I Hit the gym last night and its like a kick in the ass! I was fighting the preacher curl bar, giving everything I have for that last rep... the kind where the bar seems to be stuck in mid rep... not moving.. yet slowly rising...pushing yourself. Then you finish and just can't help but smile.
Today I'm my old fun self again! Like I took some sort of happy pills! Night and day results. I think I get depressed without my workouts.

I had a rest week last week and my moods hit rock bottom. I have a lot going on in my personal life that caught up w/me, but I know if I had been working out, I would have felt much better. After my workout last night, I did feel better.

When I'm not exercising at all, my mood sinks quicker than the titanic. I don't like to take time off. I might change things up, like layoff weights for a week and do only muay thai or bjj, but I have to do something.

Workout=Mood
While on vacation last Sumer, my wife INSISTED that I find a gym after only 4 days! She said "you're becomming more angry every day". Sure enough, after finding a gym and getting a solid workout in, the vacation was more enjoyable for all of us!

in my case, when I get to work, I park on the 4th floor of the deck. then I grab my laptop and lunch and lug them down four flights of steps and across the street and down the street.
then when I leave, I reverse the direction.
also, during the day I walk around town at lunch
short story, even though I ride the desk, I have found a way to make my normal busy day into a mini-workout.
Best I can say is make you day a workout. take the steps- 2 at a time with heavy stuff is best. take a walk at lunch. stand up a lot at your desk (you can still operate the keyboard and mouse - trust me on this).
this way, you never have to have the doldrums from lack of excercise.

Similar here... if I am in a bad mood or in a down mood, I cannot get a good workout. Yet, if I do push through, barring being super tired, my bad/down mood lifts and I am better for having worked out.

Me neither... I am glad that I am not the only one... been struggling with juggling so much the last few weeks... (Taking care of (cleaning up/repairing) uncle's house and finances) and have just barely been able to keep a short workout going, 15 minutes tops, most mornings.
I had been having a short work out in the morning, then a better one, maybe an hour or more, in the evening. Lately, it has turned into mornings only because in the evening, once I am home, it is 'burnt out city'. I close my eyes in front of the TV and fall asleep... funny thing is, I am there falling asleep/dreaming about how I ought to be working out!
Well, there is light at the end of the tunnel... I think.

My workout and/or running is absolutely ESSENTIAL to my mood/attitude. My kids will tell you that it most definitely is. But, I do usually warn people that I'm crabby when I am.
For me, more than two days w/o some physical exertion and my whole attitude toward life starts shifting down fast, so... I don't ever go more than two days w/o a workout or run or something... Life's too short to be crabby! And, when I know how to keep myself a better mood... why would I take that away from ME?!

Likewise for me.
There's only been a very few days (not lately) when I thought I was too tired or whatever.
After doing the workout anyway I felt better and was glad I fought it off.
There have been a couple of occassions that I was just exhausted from previous days torture but that is very rare.
To me, knowing I copped out of the workout (for whatever reason) gave me a much worse feeling than how I felt prior to justifying not working out.
BTW......a gruelling one to all.

my mood rarely has any bearing on the rest of my life including workouts.
that being said, my mood rarely changes. I am almost always positive.
It's hard for others to take sometimes
