hey all
i'm 6'2" and around 202pounds.. I dont have much muscle mass altho not super skinny.. I m just trying to lose the fat I have so that the muscle I have can show but especially cos I dont want to look fat on the beach in 4 weeks
basically I am being careful and keeping track of all I eat.. for the past 5 days I have consumed around 1600-1800kcal a day.. now my BMR is supposed to be around 2100 and with activity goes to around 2800-3000kcal
So basically I am taking around 1000kcal less than my maintenance a day
I KNOW that most sites suggest 500kcal to be ideal so that not much muscle is lost when cutting.. But my question is this: considering my priority is to lose fat and I dont mind losing some muscle (as I dont hae much anyway).. do I still need to take in 400-500kcal extra a day??
My diet satisfies me and I m not hungry at night.. Does it make sense to consume an extra 400 a day - will this actually burn EXTRA? (it has to burn an extra 500 at least just cos i took in 400 to make sense - unless it just helps to preserve the muscle)
thanks

Is -1000kcal too much for fat loss?

Instead of losing over all weight wouldn't you rather turn the little fat you have into muscle though?
