Bench Press with Ez Bar ?

    Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has thoughts on using a ez bar for benchpresses ?

Iv only got a ez bar at the moment and have been using it for benches, should i buy a regular straight bar for my benches ?

    Thanks

Honestly I was thinking about that to. I always use straight, straight feels like there is more resistent. Ez bar was meant to save your wrists from damage with curls, but with bench press it does not feel like having the bar curl will help your wrists...

I do the reverse grip bench press with an EZ bar for my triceps. It's an awesome exercise. I've never done it as part of my chest workout, but there's no reason why it wouldn't work also. Getting it into position can be a bit difficult unless you modify your bar. I know some welders and they extended my EZ bar to 7 feet long. I can put it in a power rack and use it just like a regular barbell.

I love doing my close grip bench with the EZ. Often set it with skull crushers when working tris.. love it

Maybe get some DBs instead and do your bench with freeweights ??

Because of limited space in my basement, I often use the EZ bar instead of a barbell. If you're not looking for an especially wide grip, it can work pretty well.

I like it for neck presses too, since the cambered contour allows me to bring the bar down further and thus gives me a better stretch in the pecs.

an eazy bar is the little chrome colored bar that people typically use for preacher curls, it has the close grip and wide grip bends in it...after i do skull crushers, i usually do close grip bench with whatever weight i was using on the crushers, just to hit and burn out my triceps even more
