    You can search to find a lot of information on this. The fact is, you are trying to accomplish the hardest thing.

    Simply put for short-term results (6-18) months
    gaining muscle = eating more and putting on fat
    getting lean = eating less and losing some muscle

    It is possible to do, but it takes years of dedicated work and a strict diet. If you are new to working out, you may see these kind of results for a couple of months, but after that your body will react like everyone else, unless you go with unnatural means.

    Also, you can't spot reduce fat. You lose it all over and generally the mid section is the last to go.

    Ok, I guess right now I don't have much of a choice, so I'll just have to go with getting lean then.

    So for losing fat, what's the best way and what diet do you recommend?

    It really depends on your body and your calorie requirements. If you can, try talking to a traininer at a local gym or a nutritionist there. They can help you determine your daily requirements and activity levels and guide you from there.
