O/T Surprise birthday present for my wife.
I just had to share
I just bought my wife tickets to go see The Police, section 100 seats.
She had been asking to go, and I have been saying I did not want to go <grin>...
It's this Thursday. Her Birthday is not till end of May, but I also got her something else so this is sort of an extra.

Section 100 seats? Damn, I've always wanted section 100 seats. I always end up somewhere else. You lucky SOB.
So....um...what venue is this...and what do section 100 seats mean?
Cool B-day gift. Enjoy!

Well, the only thing in front of me will be the floor crowd. I am right in front of the stage, a little higher then the floor, but sitting down on comfy seats

I have done the floor thing, and since I am not young anymore, after an hour I really want to just sit down lol.

Awesome, I remember seeing them in the 80's. That should be a neat show.

I'm going to see John Mayer and Clapton at Hyde Park in London.
I nearly booked for two days to see The Police as well, but getting a babysitter and London hotel prices killed it for me.
Lucky man!
I soo excited to go see Mayer though. Even more than Clapton.
Mayer is unknown in the UK believe it or not, but I think he's gonna carry the torch for the blues well into this century.
I'm gonna be the only saddo singing along!

Oh man, Eric Clapton came here, but the tickets sold out to fast :< I would have loved to see him. I also wanted to see Roger Waters, but same thing.

The funny thing is that Clapton lives about 70 miles from my house. That's a commute to work for you guys.
Keef Richards lives about 20 miles away and Davy Jones from The Monkees lives about 5 miles away.
Do I ever see them?
Do I ****!
On the right path
ahhh... memories

Nice... I saw The Police back in Junior High at Irvine Meadows... When my Dad came to pick me up he brought my guitar and a Sharpee. He suggested that we wait for them by their busses to get an autograph. That was extremely cool of him. I waited for them by their bus to get them to sign my White Stratocaster but they never showed up, or, I was waiting by the wrong bus. Either way, it was a great memory. I haven't seen them on their reunion tour but have seen all 3 of them individually.
But, back to the topic... that is a great gift and I'm sure if she's a fan she'll be happy.

Well folks, the concert was last night and it was just amazing!!.
I have a couple of pics and a small video to share. I have a larger one, but I want to work on it. The video is not the best seeing as I had a drunk moron in front of me (and of course, they were there only 2 people in front of me and I had to get the drunk moron, so I was moving around trying to not get him standing and clapping.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAB3nRVf5nQ (am putting the link, because for some reason for me, I don't see the video as inbeded
And some pictures. One is of Elvis Costello since he was the opening act. Man he was great, he played for an hour.

And then 2 of Sting on stage.

Great present, I am sure she really loved that!
I lost a son, a daughter and a husband to EQ! I got Tombraider on the Xbox to console me.

My wife LOVES Tombraider, I just got her the anniversary one for the PS2. But alas, she is also an eq addict. :>
