    foam rollers

So i was using my cookie dough roller (wooden) doing some foam roller stuff to loosen up my legs and it kinda hurt in spots but not as much as i was expecting?
should it hurt more? thinking about buying a foam one at target for 20$ does it the roller need to be hard to be effective and be really sore when you first start out?

ya butmy legs feelpretty good right now

figure if i can deal with a piece of wood rolling over my legs, i can deal with foam one. only probelm is its to thin and the exercises are kinda hard.

so foam hurts more than wood?

It definitely needs some hardness, firmness and density since you roll yourself around on it. Pick something that is for Self-Myofascial Release.

Were you using the cookie dough roller like a self-massage stick (with both hands) ?

LOL that's pretty funny but innovative thinking to say the least

not everyone could fit a whole leg on a rolling pin though and you wouldn't want your leg to hang over the side that could be pretty painful

OK, so I saw some large size pool floaty things at Sears for $5.99. They weren't the little ones, but the solid ones the same size as a foam roller. Guess what kids, got it home and it was the same stuff...

Target had a half foam reddish pink roller nicely boxed with a dvd, maybe, for $24. No way, I think Perform Better is cheaper. But yep, walked past the toys in Sears, which used to be a Kmart, and there it was on the end cap. Funny that's it's twice the size.

I had to pat myself on the back for that find, along with empty caps and bulk cissus...

I use a 10lb marble rolling pin, I put a heating pad around the marble to warm it first.....then I take off the pad and my wife does my quads, hams, calves, and back. I use a golf ball for my chest, bi's, tri's, delts, and traps.

    definitely a WIN

doesn't it feel good when find something like that, it makes you want to tell the manufacturer but then that would definitely be a bad idea lol

Yep, it's as sturdy. They had some smaller ones, thinner really, the one you want is identical to the one in Target, just longer, and more color variety! It's in the seasonal pool/toy section.

I have had good luck with tennis balls. You can tape two together and crack your back or use one for your rotator cuff. There is a good article on T-nation about all the tricks you can do with tennis balls.
