NO, the cards were 2 field goals away from that division, it will be competative no doubt, but i think this year the cards start their reign

1998, and they have had 1 playoff win in 58 years lol
but they are really becoming a good organization, i think this year they will make the playoffs as a wild card or division winnar

Cardinals fan, and have been since I've had conscious memory!
As a Cardinals fan it is nice knowing we've won a playoff game more recently than the Cowgirls.
Rod Graves will never live down failing to draft Suggs, but his recent drafts have been much better. DRC and CC made for a solid first day. Sure DRC wasn't the flashiest pick (Mendenhall was), and CC is a true boom or bust pick, but I have faith in Whiz to coach up these tremendous athletic talents.
Here's how I'd like to see the rest of the draft shape out:
3) HB*
4) WR**
5) OL/LB***
6) OL/LB***
7) BPA****
*Halfback is for obvious reasons. Edge is on the downside, and lacks home-run ability. If Edge goes down to injury, then we are in serious trouble with Shipp, and Arrington. I don't trust those two to carry the load. Shipp, since his leg injury, lacks speed, and Arrington is tissue soft (burned in my memory is his 4th and 2 dive for the turf when Sean Taylor appeared in front of him against the Redskins)
**We need a slot receiver, and Urban/Rector aren't going to cut it. I would like to see Matt Trannon get a chance, as he showed great athleticism in the preseason, but I think the coaches want a speed-guy as witnessed by some of Whisenhunt's comments this off-season.
***We can use more depth at each of those positions.
****By the time the 7th comes around just take the best player available that has the most potential to become a contributor.

I forgot this thread was here...
We're 3-2 so far. Under Whisenhunt we're 8-2 at home, and actually have a real home-field advantage unlike the days at the hell known as Sun Devil Stadium.
We sucked on the east coast, as we have for as long as I can remember. I think we're like 2-13 or some such in recent history - ridiculous. The Jets game was an aberration - 6 TO won't happen every game, and that's totally inexcusable.
It looks like so long as we don't turn the ball over we're hard to beat.
Our secondary continues to be a concern. Outside of Wilson everyone else has been fairly inept.
It was exciting thumping the Bills. I'm really loving Hightower - Cardinals fans on the AZCardinals message board were as excited about him as when we drafted Boldin, and that's saying something.
Boldin will be out for the Cowboys game, which will tell us a lot about where we stand as a team. A win would be a huge statement for this team, but right now we're still untested.
Cautious optimism for next week.

Truer words have never been spoken.
Two guys with a season under their belt I'm thinking will have nice seasons:
Calais Campbell at RDE, I think he will step it up filling in for Antonio Smith. He still needs to develop some pass rush skills but he is good against the run and is always around the ball.
Early Doucet, hopefully he will takeover Urban's #3 WR position and stay healthy this year because he's a younger/less beastly version of Q.
And a rookie:
Rashad Johnson at FS, should give Rolle some competition at the position and will keep that bum Aaron Francisco off the field in nickle and dime situations. He's a ballhawk, I have a feeling Rolle is gone after this year because of his contract escalator in 2010 if we can't work out a deal.
Football cannot start soon enough, god damn!

Beanie Wells is going to be a great running back, now he just needs to work on HOLDING the damn ball! And I don't think I want to see Antrel Rolle returning punts ever again, that was scary. After the first drive my worries about the state of our offense were gone, we looked great today. The defense played a hell of a game until the 4th quarter, I think they got a bit too comfortable with the big lead and let off a bit. Billy Davis wasn't blitzing as much either late and Garrard got on a role.
Next week against the Colts is going to be interesting.
