Trouble gaining weight
Hey everyone....I'm just wondering what has worked for the hardgainers out there because I have been trying to gain weight for a long time now and have been unsuccessfull. I've been taking cytogainer for about 2 years now and havn't gained much from it. Last summer, I took the BSN stak which was Nitrix, No explode, cellmass and true mass without any luck. Now I'm trying animal pump with pak and stak.

Well alot of the weight gainers that work is mostly water retention weight. But for non-water retetion weight the best bet is to increase your protein shake intake.

you simply gotta eat more. tons of clean food. make yourself smoothies with milk, oats, berries, peanut butter and whey. a couple of those a day can help.

i added 3000 calories to my diet overnight around the year 2001 or so and 1 week later (which was +21000 calories) my bench shot up to unbelievable personal records. (i do not advocate such an increase, lol)
so when u hear about the advocation of eating more i would definitely listen...
food is your friend.

Sweet. Thanks for the quick response...its just so frustrating to be stuck at the same weight after trying so hard to gain just a pound or two. I will just keep eating until I can't eat anymore!lol

Don't eat garbage like that, eat good clean foods. You're probably not eating as much as you think.

i literally added about 3k+calories overnight and obviously i do not recommend that to anyone.
i put on fat (for the first time ever) right away and quickly learned alot about calories and food intake.
but, it did put me in a huge anabolic state and i grew like crazy. only when i later did a cycle of 1-t+ could i compare my growth.
now, i just try and eat a clean diet and adjust my total calories, depending on what my goals r.

please remember that this is all "in general" and is tweaked here and there:
i work out 1-2 bodyparts a day.
5-10 sets, depending.
heavy reps (fail between 3-10)
warmups with no pre-fatigue.
reduce wts only.
2min rest minimum.
my workouts last about 45 minutes.
i take pre and post workout supps.
very simple.

My solution to helping me gain weight is a home made bulking shake.
- 0.5 - 1.0 cups of oats
- 1 - 2 cups of milk
- 1 - 2 scoops of whey
- 1 tbsp of natty PB
Blend it all together and slame it back. Can also add a banana.

IMO, 1 1/2 hours is too long for a hardgainer to workout. you're probaly burning more calories than you need to.

Yeah remember you need to eat a lot if you are a hard gainer, at then end of the day it's the matter of getting more calories in then out. One word, OATS, these are a godsend especially for those as yourself, I usually just get the oat flour which has the same nutritional profile as regular rolled oats. just mix that in a shake with some whey protein, a couple of spoons of peanut butter, some milk and maybe a banana and you can very easily get a 800 to 1000 calorie shake there! Have 2 or 3 of those a day and your sure to put on some good weight, remember sleep is important too as well as a good training program with a good diet.

heck ya 5!!
in fact im thinkin one sounds good right now...
Quank- start by tryin to eat every 3 hrs. not 3.5 but 3. worry about getting enuf protein (30g's or so) some carbs and either little fat or good fat (efa's)
thats a minimum of about 5 meals a day not including pre and post workout nutrition and supps.
write it down, read it, and then re-read it.
habits will form...
