That family, friends and co-workers say to you that bug the hell out of you b/c they dont understand about eating right or working out? One thing that bugs me is when the people at work are talking about how much thay had to eat at lunch and then one of them looks at and will say" your skinny and so lucky you dont have to watch what you eat" I just keep my mouth shut.

When I talk about lifting weights and they say, "ya, but you don't want to get too big".
That bothers me for a couple reasons:
(1) it's not that easy to put on muscle mass
(2) they assume they know what I wantIf you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice
I will choose a path that's clear
I will choose freewill

I had bought some d.b from work(big box store) and as I was leaving the girl working the door said "your going to get big muscles" like it was a bad thing. She is not in shape and I see her eating crap all the time, I dont understand why people say things like that when they have no clue what they are talking about.

It's mainly my family that annoy me about my "habits." If I go to a gathering they expect me to eat what they have fixed which is usually good ol' southern cooking. If I bring my own food or just eat a salad they get offended. They'll offer me dessert about a hundred times before they accept "no thanks" for an answer. They do this with alcohol too. No, I don't want a glass of wine b/c it stalls me out.

Since I still live with my parents, I get all kinds of comments from them. Here are a few that really piss me off:
"Oh no, now you're over doing it" - After I say I'd rather hit the gym than watch TV.
"Don't go anorexic on us" - As I carefully measure my food/pass up dessert
"Don't you think you're going too far?"
"You shouldn't count calories, thats bad"
I could go on and on!

I hate people, all of them.
j/k but it's annoying to work really hard on something and instead of hearing hey great job you look good, I get insulted.

"Just one [insert food/drink] won't hurt."
That may well be the case but did it never occur to you that I don't actually want one at all and that I actually ENJOY eating healthily?
"You're overdoing it."
"Don't get too big."

"You're losing too much weight" "You're going to blow away" "Are you still on that diet" !!!!!! I haven't lost weight since last summer, 130 lbs at 5'2" is NOT skinny, and yeah, I am STILL on THAT diet...
I work on a production line next to a guy who asked me what size I was, I said a 6, sometimes a 4 on a really good day. He looks at me and shakes his head and says "I bet none of these other women can say that"...I'm like...and? your point?
Like I'm really concerned with the size of all the other women out there.

Mostly its my mom who says things like
"you're going to look like Arnold"
or I talked to so - and so and you should only be lifting 10lbs max
or Mariah Carey got to a size 2 by eating this or that--- which when she told me equated to one meal split up over an entire day"NEVER GIVE UP AND NEVER STOP BELIEVING!!!"

yeah I hate it when people talk about how much they have eaten "I only had a mars bar today and I didn't eat at all yesterday. I'm doing so well"
And my friend said to me that she didn't put any resistance on the bike because she didn't want to get big legs.
And when I'm eating nuts or peanut butter and they tell me they would never eat that because it's fattening.
And this one is one of the best.... my friend told me that her Mum lost heaps of weight from sitting in the spa where the air bubbles blow out because apparantly the air pressure was working out her muscles.
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG I seriously feel a huge rush of aggression coming on when I hear things like this. I really don't say anything back because I'm sure it would be very abusive if anything came out of my mouth.I have complete control over my body. What I eat and what I do reflect that. Nobody can stop my progress. I will continue my progress until my goals are met. Then from there I will need to achieve new goals to keep the forward progression of my mind, body, and soul. I motivate myself every day to work out, eat healthy, and live my life to the fullest.

The guys at work tease me about wanting to compete in bodybuilding, (which I don't). Every time they see me eating something healthy or mentioning the gym they will joke *cough*bodybuilder*cough*
I'm just doing this for me!!
It doesn't really annoy me, it's actually kind of funny, but by the 1,000,000th time they say it, it's kind of lost it's humour!
Oh and my boyfriend calls me 'Starla' when i talk about the gym (after Starla in napoleon dynamite) and yeah, again it lost it's humour long ago.

"You know that you are going to rot your kidneys from all that protein, don't you?"
I wouldn't mind if I were supplementing with lots of whey, but apart from a small PWO shake, all my protein comes from normal food, and it's normal amounts. The average guy in McDonalds eats the same amount protein than I do, just a lot more crappy carbs.65% fat, 30% protein, 5% carbs = keto.

My family doesn't really say much. They just give me the weird look. Now I have a sister who *wants* to lose weight but the way she talks about it, she thinks she has to starve herself! So when I suggest something about food...nope, nope, nope...that's not right! Ooook....exit stage left and good luck! lol

I get accused of starving myself all the time.
But honestly I touch junk food once a week at the most (Starbucks mocha and scone yum). My female coworkers eat it every day. I've been there and it makes me 5-10lbs heavier even if I exercise.
I also eat every one of my 3 breaks so I'm not sure why anyone would think I'm starving myself lol. It's annoying.

I've heard a lot of annoying comments.
I've been called skinny (which is an insult if y'ask me!) but I guess it makes a change from fatty which I got a couple of years back! haha.. My mum used to say all the time, "you dont eat enough, you're going to be anorexic" (because I'll have 6 smaller meals per day rather than gorging out at dinner, etc..)
It's so easier to eat when you're living away from home!!! Hassle free.
Oh another one was - my mum came to visit and I made up a protein shake, she looks at me and goes - "Do you want to be like a man?"
Um, in a word - no.what would grok do?..
Currently: 5x5 stronglifts / 2-3 x per week sprints/crossfit

girls....girls....girls!!!! such bitterness! LOL.....
here is what it is all about: bodybuilding, or fitness, is a PASSION....
and the plain simple fact of the matter , is that , the average person, simply doesn't have PASSION of any sort in their life....
they are plodding their way through, day by day....and without passion comes lack of desire of knowledge.
and without knowledge, come IGNORANCE....and it is ignorance of other people's passions that cause people to ask or say what to us seem like the most stupid of comments.
so: we have two choices here really: we could just ignore them, but of course in some cases, that is difficult in itself, as these people may be family, siblings, parents best friends, co-workers that you have to be with every single day, etc......
that is certainly the toughest choice.....
or: maybe, just maybe, we could try ( I know it is difficult) to gradually EDUCATE them, or , as much as possible, enlighten them, if you will, about why we do have a certain passion and what it is about.
I know all about rants, and I have had several on here myself....and it is good to blow steam off your chests, for sure....
but after you think about it and look at the choices: the latter, as much as a chore it might seem, is all about taking the high road.

I know...but really, we owe it to ourself to make an effort to inform....not just with BB, but with any passion that we have in life that the "others" just don't "get"......

I hate it when family says..."your not 16 anymore"...you'll never look that way again. Or "you look fine for 40"! IMO, there's no such thing as looking good for a particular age...either you look good or you don't! I find that insulting! Hell, look at Demi Moore...she looks friggin awesome for any age! Look at Janet Jackson (scratch the plastic surgery face), or Hali Berry...any woman of any age, would die to have a body like that! That's what I'm going for.

Lately I've been getting, "You're arms are getting HUGE!" from some of the guys in the gym.
When I started my arms were 13.25". Now they are 10.25". If that's "getting huge" than please god give me a huge ass.

I used try but over the years of people making a joke out of it and them beliving the late night tv ads over me and just plan people dont want to do it if they cant just take pill makes me want to keep my mouth shut. If someone cares what I have to say I will talk about it but most people dont want to belive that you have to work for it.
