[Food Fight]
This seemed to be the most reasonable place to document my eating habits since this is the nutrition forum (and I do apologize if it is not). Recently I have discussed some of my tendencies when it comes to food consumption and most feedback I am receiving is I may have a possible ED. My habitual actions: low calorie consumption (1400-1800), obsessive weighing of food, feel like I must exercise every day, fearful of weight gains, feelings of immense guilt before/after eating and if I enjoy eating, angered easily, these among other things. I make sure I do a minimum of 45 minutes of interval cardio training every day and I weight lift 5 days a week (due to the fact I can not leave the house the other two). I know my outlook on food has been deemed but I feel it is the only way to loose body fat. Yes, I have read and understand many components of having a healthy lifestyle but somehow I got drawn into one not so healthy. I will be posting daily to better analyze my situation and I would appreciate any feedback you have to offer.
Thank you,
Kayla.

04.24.08 Thursday
After discussing this with many people, I decided to take a day off from exercising. How I feel about that?..guilty and ****ty unfortunately. I don't feel like I need to eat if I don't exercise but regardless I decided to eat more than normal, as suggested I do.
(6:00 am)BREAKFAST-
1/2 c oat mix
1/2 c ff cottage cheese
3/4 c pumpkin
15 g banana whey
1 c coffee
2 splenda
total: 390
(11:30am) MID MORNING-
85 g asparagus
85 g snow peas
6 slices turkey
-I came home from school and went to sleep from 1pm-3pm. I was using most of my energy trying to walk; my legs where feeling weak and jelloish...
(4:00pm) AFTERNOON-
1 1/2 c pumpkin
1 can chicken
1/2 c sf maple syrup
65 g onion
1/2 c vanilla soy milk
90 g silken tofu
total: 400
-I felt guilty after eating this because I found the taste enjoyable... =/
(8:00pm) DINNER-
1 can salmon
1 bag spinach
140 g broccolli
150 g tomato
65 g onion
1/4 c ff cottage cheese
4 tbs vinegar
1 tsp cayenne/garlic powder
1 tub Crystal Light
total: 420
(10:00pm) BEFORE BED-
180 g silk tofu
1/4 c ff cottage cheese
15 g vanilla casein
5 g jello mix
30 g chocolate casein
2 splenda
total: 350
TOTAL= 1650 CALORIES

you need to start eating more carbs, your relying way too much on veggies to fill you up and try to cut back your calories, you had complex carbs in 1 meal in that being breakfast,
try to disperse some more complex carbs + healthy fats throughout your day, you should be aiming for at least 2k calories regardless if its a training day or not.

(6:00am) BREAKFAST- make this your biggest meal, add some healthy fats in here, maybe PB in ur oats, or some almonds on the side, or eat some WHOLE EGGS
1/2 c oat mix
90 g tofu
1 c vanilla yogurt
15 g vanilla whey
1/4 c maple syrup
1 c coffee
2 splenda
total: 380
(10:00 am) MID MORNING- veggies is not a meal, make all your meals COMPLETE P+C+F in all of them
85 g asparagus
85 g snow peas
total: 40
(11:00am) PRE WORKOUT- get a better pre-workout carb like more oats (caloric dense) and add a piece of fruit like a banana
1 c raspberry yogurt
1 c shredded all bran
total: 160
(2:00pm) POST WORKOUT- looks pretty good! try to make it a touch bigger with the carbs maybe 1/4 cup of oats
1 pack lemon pudding
15 g vanilla whey
1/2 c cottage cheese
1/2 c maple syrup
1/4 c egg whites
total: 390
(6:00pm) DINNER- ur largest meal, maybe divide this up and disperse throughout your meals, avoid they whey if you can and aim for whole foods, eggs, chicken, tuna, turkey etcc.. again healthy fats??
1 c oats
12 g pistachio pudding mix
30 g banana whey
90 g tofu
1/4 c maple syrup
total: 560
(9:30pm) BEFORE BED- healthy fats, lacking them .. too much protein .. 45g of casein, and 1/4 cup of cottage chees, and 180g of tofu is overkill, move some of that tofu up to your snack in the morning, stick with the cottage cheese + casein and add some peanut butter.
180 g tofu
1/4 c cottage cheese
15 g vanilla casein
5 g jello mix
30 g chocolate casein
2 splenda
total: 350
TOTAL: 1880 CALORIES
How does that look and am is that too much to consume at one at DINNER?

no its fine, eat meals like tha tall the time, but balance these so they all are at least 350 cals, and up to 500 cals at each sitting,
Stop neagting your fats and complex carbs, its looking better Minty.. Given time everything will settle..

Anorexia with exercise dependency. Also some bullimia trying to purge by working out. Your legs are like jello because you aren't eating enough still. Probably fats. Trust me I was there. Same thing happened to me.

I can't stomach anymore than what I already eat at breakfast without feeling like I am going to fall over and puke. lol. Well is that significant enough to be my 'refeed' day, atleast compared to my other ones?

I'VE BEEN THERE HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Add in healthy fats in MODERATION every single meal. Seriously. You will be able to work out harder with the extra energy! Think of it that way!!!!
Off Days are part of your training. Your body and muscles need it. Think of it as one giant set of rest. Seriously.

Meaning if you don't exercise during the day you feel guilty or 'not right'....
I still feel like that at times too. It's an obsession that on the surface is healthy but can turn into something very unhealthy.

You dont get any healthy fats in your diet, start making room and cutting back on the protein, aim for at least 20g per meal of protein .. 1 scoop of whey, about 100g of a lean protein source ( which you lack a lot of) such as chicken/tuna/turkey/lean beef/cottage cheese
you need to start getting some whole eggs into your diet, they are not very filling and they contain great sources of vitamins/minerals
Stop eating a lot of veggies and fruits and puddings and stuff, keep those to what they are needed for, 2 pieces of fruit a day will suffice, and 1 cup of veggies at a meal is fine, but you need to start getting some good whole foods like complex carbs + healthy fats inyour diet
Dont negate fat, it wont make you fat, your just getting NONE in ur diet which is a very bad thing.

I take EFA caps and fish oil through out the day with meals though. Oh, I guess I am exercise dependent... I don't see that going away though. I get sick to my stomach when I think I don't do enough or didn't eat the correct things; I always feel I should have done better.

you have obviously not researched the basics.
Eat reall foods, not sugar free/fat free crap. dont rely on whey. fat is good for you (if it made you fat why would people do keto?)

You're just being in denial "that's not going away" what the hell? Why even make the thread if you're not going to follow the advice people give you? You have to have rest days, otherwise you burn out and hate what you do. trust me

Yeah I know how it feels. I relaxed my eating habits a bit because I love training more then anything and not having enough energy to be able to get that 'feel' sucks. So I eat 95% clean and don't weigh my stuff and eyeball it so it doesn't drive me insane.
As far as not feeling you did enough workout-wise I still feel like that which is why I usually do no less then 25 sets for weights on any given bodypart.
And yeah it would probably take a lot of therapy for us to relax.

Also EFA caps are good. But add extra virgin olive oil and nuts and/or nut butters in moderation. Healthy fats are well...HEALTHY!

Hit the nail on the head, Minty you can take all the words people give you, but if you deny foods, and sit there and weigh out everything to the exact gram ur just going to waste away your life. your 17 years old life isnt about weighing out food, its about enjoying your life, having a social life, and being healthy
Sure its good to eat clean and have fun, but your taking it way too serious, ur denying ur body of good fats, and especially a lot of good WHOLE FOODS.
You underweight and overtraining and eating a lot of sugar free junk and loading up on splenda to make things taste good.
Ill refuse to give you more advice the longer you refuse to take it, your REFEED days should be the minimum amout of cals taking in on a daily basis, you should strive for nothing less then 2k
and if you want to sit in the gym for horus, so be it. ur just pushing urself backwards.. if you ever want to change you have to change your habits, regardless of how you feel
Your body is so used to being overtrained you dont feel like ur getting anything because its so deprived of food and so use to being taxed and ur CNS is probably run to ****.
Ive been there and back too... you need to do whats bst for your body and your life and your future..
