These look worthwhile?
Some dude has some half-racks up on craigslist, not far from me.

I was thinking about picking up a spare rack for the home gym, so I have a place to do some curls.

That's a standard squat rack. Yes, very useful for squatting (and, um, curling.) If he's selling them for $400 each, you could get an inexpensive power rack instead (which would be more useful since you can adjust the height of the safety stops.)

I agree with jude-o. That is a nice squat rack, but you would probably be better served with a full power rack, or a sumo rack if height is an issue. You could get either for less than $400.
Why a power/sumo rack might be better:
Adjustable safeties - What if they are too high for you?
Benching - you can lower the safeties and bench.
Rack pulls - see benching.

Um, this is a joke. Everyone's always complaining about folks at the gym doing curls in the squat rack. That's why I said I was thinking about getting an EXTRA one for doing curls.
I've already got a full rack...
Apparently I'm not as funny as I thought I was.
My mom thinks I'm cool...

Nice gym set up you have there. I'm jealous!

Don't need much... just a little background noise. I get a headache if I blast it while I'm trying to lift.
And they were cheap.

I got the joke, but I thought you were serious about buying the rack (for squatting).
