Exclamation Why take supplements? and What should I take?

I've just recently began lifting three times a week and doing cardio four to five times a week, I need to drop weight (30lbs)... gettin hitched at the end of Summer.

So yeah what supplements should I take? and when?

**Please dumb down the lingo I'm new to this, I don't understand abbreviations.

I'd start with a woman's multi vitamin and fish oil or EFA's (Essential Fatty Acids). Also a good whey protein powder

My trainer got me started out with some whey protein, a multivitamin, some EFAs (essential fatty acids), and glutamine. It took me a while to get into the routine of taking them all daily and at the appropriate times, though.
