first contest

I was thinking about doing a bodybuilding comp. in beg. of September and was curious if people think I have time to compete in a light weight division. I am 5'7", 156lbs and around 8 percent body fat. I figure the best way to see pics would be to click on my bodyspace just because more are there and I can't attach the images. My legs are around 22.5 btw, they aren't in the pics but I can get them back to 23.5 again in about 6 weeks. My measurements are 42 chest, 27 waist, 14 inch arms, and uhh thats about it. Thanks

Dude, go for it !!!! You never know what you'll acomplish until you try and we all have to start someplace.

You have about 5 months (20 weeks) to get yourself ready. Getting cut won't be an issue because you are already pretty lean, you might even get down to bantamweight if they have that category (135-150). Just keep lifting heavy and stay on top of your diet and you'll be laughing. Start your practice posing and working on your routine no lesss than 10 weeks out (even earlier if you can) so that your stage conditioning will be solid and routine flawless. Other than that, just commit yourself and stick to it. Plenty of people with solid advise to guide you through the rest.

Good luck and hope you follow through with it!!!! I just did my first show this past weekend at 36 - and my only regret is that I didn't start when I was younger. Best of luck!!!
