A few questions....

I have a few questions that i hope someone can help me with.
I have been working out for quite some time, and i have not seen the transformation that i feel like i should have had...so i have decided that i must be doing something wrong. I am going to start from scratch and read a lot of articles on here to increase my knowledge.
I was wondering if someone could point me towards some good articles. I would really appreciate it.

Also, my main goal is to get bigger while at the same time getting more defined. I do not want to get huge or anything. I just want to have a nice sculpted body.
How should I go about doing this? Should I only worry about burning fat now and size later? Should I try to do both at the same time? or should i go for size now and definition later?

In advance, thanks a lot. I really need the help.

It is very hard to gain size while leaning up, and very hard to gain size lifting girlie weights. What I recommend you do is find a proven strength training program, (Bill Star's 5x5 is good) eat clean, and around maintenance calories (usually 15x your bodyweight = calories per day to stay at the same weight).
This way you will get leaner and more defined while you gain strength.
Lifting for size while not eating a calorie surplus is not really going to help you.
After you build some solid strength you can add more size and bulk up.

I guess that is one of my problems for not getting big. I have been cutting down on calories trying to burn fat. I will stop doing that.
This is going to be difficult for me. I do not have much money and can't afford to buy supplements or any special food. I just have to eat what my parents buy.

5x5

just type in 5X5 weightlifting routine on google, all of the first results should be solid programs. 5X5 means 5 sets of 5 reps on high weight; as much weight as you can do 5 reps of for those 5 sets.

Use this one:
http://www.geocities.com/elitemadcow...Linear_5x5.htm

You have to ultimately make your mind up and focus on 1 goal.
If you want to add muscle at a decent rate, your going to have to eat a lot.
If you want to be ripped all year round and slowly add limited muscle, you can, but even that is harder.

So I recommend you gain strength while you maintain, once your strength is good you can switch to hypertrophy training style and eat up. (Usually done during winter)
