Sup guys I'm trying to find some good snacks for in between meals and I love beef jerky but the sodium on these things are extremely high! I know too much sodium results in water retainage but will this hurt my ability to lose weight? Opinion?

There are definitely worse things out there that you could snack on than Beef Jerky. However, if there's anyway to instead have some lean chicken or turkey than obviosuly thats the way to go. As far as the sodium goes, as long as your doing your fair share of cardio you'll be able to sweat out a lot of the extra sodium your taking in. Retaining water isn't much of a big deal until you get down to a lower BF% because then it will cover up the muscle even if you lose the fat. So overall, if you can switch to chicken/turkey I would do it. If not, for now the beef jerky shouldnt be too bad.

I just ate the stuff today. If you ask me, its great if you want about 30g protein with little else. The high sodium is not a problem as long as you drink lots of water. Too much sodium can be bad for you but if you go a little over its no problem, just have a couple of extra glasses of water everyday. Some people think that water retention is caused by drinking this much water; in fact, its the opposite, the more water you drink the less you retain.
High sodium will not effect fat loss.
