I know its a fairly simple question, but every time I hear a girl asked this they usually go to one extreme or another.
It seems where I live all the skinny emo kids are seen as more attractive to girls. Granted I am a senior in HS, hopefully it changes in college.

Honestly, I know from experience girls tend to shy away from guys with muscles. Girls are very self conscious and think guys with muscles only do it for the ladies and become players. Girls do not want their "relationship material" boyfriends to lift weights and look better and better because they think other girls will go after their man. This is true especially if your girl is not in the best shape of her life.
Girls like muscles for 1 nighters/F buddies.
After that they feel very afraid to commit to you.

But to the OP; I think a lot of confusion with all of this is that when girls say they don't like muscles they are talking about a Ronnie Colemen kinda figure. WE're talking juiced up, on stage, bright lights, tan, baby oil, weeks of strict dieting.
And they say 'Eww gross'.
Girls also have trouble admitting that they are shallow. So they tend to downplay how much they care about looks. You'll hear girls say things like, 'I don't want a guy with a LOT of muscles (IE Ronnie Colemen) but I'd like a guy to be in shape (IE Bodybuilder/personal trainers featured on the cover of men's health who make working out a huge priority in their life).
It's like me saying, I dont' like HUGE tits (thinking of giant fat chick tits), I just like girls to have some boobs (meaning nothing less than a full B cup on a petite frame)
Bottom line is - if you don't juice, aren't a genetic freak, and haven't worked out seriously for 5+ years; you won't hit the 'ewww gross too much muscle' level. You'll just be an 'in shape dude'.

Not true..there are girls who like big biker dudes, yet there are girls who like scrawny emo kids...there are girls who like qiuet mysterious guys, and there are girls who make fun of shy kids and only go out with really outgoing guys...there are girls who like athletes, and there are girls who like more intelligent people...there are girls who like gangsters, and there are girls who like proffesors..there are girls who like guys with a lot of muscles, and there are some that only like skinnier guys and everything inbetween
asking if girls like muscle is like asking if all guys like sports...sure a lot do,but there are also plenty that find them stupid
people differ on what they think, and I find it kind of stupid that you think you know what all girls basically like in a guy

When I was younger I was heavily into basketball and I played throughout high school and in summer pro leagues. I had an athletic build (really cut) but I was pretty skinny. After my realized I wasn't going to play D-1 ball or go pro, I quit playing ball and diverted that energy into weight lifting. I went from 6ft 3", 180 lbs to 230 lbs and I definitely get more female attention at this weight/build. As far as girls not seeing muscular guys as "relationship" material I don't know about that. Because what I noticed is that having a nice build gets their attention and peaks their interest in you...even if it's just a sexual interest it doesn't matter. After the two of you meet it's then your PERSONALITY that will determine if she just wants to fuk or if she wants to hold on to you. It's the same thing for me...when I see a hot chick I don't think to myself "I want to be with her for x amount of years or whatever" I'm only initially sexually interested in her. But if she turns out to have a nice personality and is fun to be around THEN I might decide I wouldn't mind being in a relationship with her.
Of course, you don't HAVE to be muscular to get women..because all women have different taste. But I know that I have no desire to ever go back to the skinny look.

hmmmmm....lets see which bandwagon should we jump on here?
the "girls like skinny emo guys"?
the "girls like skinny, WOMEN like muscles"?
the "confidence is more important"?
the "girls like TONED guys"?
how about girls have diffrent prefrences as im sure you do too.
im sure you might like chocolate over strawberry or fast cars over trucks, its the same thing.
