    Creatine Kinase

Ok well, I couldn't exactly find out where to put this but I recently got my blood tests back, and in the CK (creatine kinase) my levels were outrageously high, websites say the normal value is in males, total CK should be 17-148 U/L. My recent bloodwork showed levels of 600 U/L and im not exactly sure why. I take hydroxycut hardcore, only, and i doubt this has any influence on this. I work out aprx. 5-7 week and can anyone please help me. I hear levels this high can cause a heart attack does anyone have any idea what this can be caused by?

No worries bro. Creatine kinase is what will regenerate creatine-phosphate, which is the active/good form of creatine. It converts ADP to ATP for energy.

As for really high levels...the enzyme itself won't be toxic to you. Maybe it means that your creatine-phosphate levels are low?

No idea but why do you take hydroxycut? You don't need to lose fat.

it doesn't cause heart attacks, high levels can mean you had a heart attack...

It also can increase because of muscular damage, and guess what you are doing in the gym? Yep..

This hasn't much of anything to do with the creatine phosphate energy system.

Could it be possible you are overtraining yourself? What do you normally do?

well i start out on the bike for about 20-30 minutes depending how i feel, i burn about 200-400 calories, then i go into somewhat heavy lifting but almost never go for extreme muscle failure, but to some extent, then ill finish off with abs and more biking if possible

I see, so weight lifting isn't really your main goal. I think this would be normal... its good to be cautious though. Possibly get retested but after taking a couple days off.

It could be that you are doing so much cardiovascular exercise that you have such high cortisol levels causing a huge increase in muscle protein breakdown thus causing creatine kinase levels to be abnormally high... just a thought
