    3,500 Calories per Day! How???????

    I need to up my cals to about 3,500 per day. I have absolutely no idea how I can do this "clean".

    I use Cytogainer in between meals but still that only a counts for about 1,000/day.

    Eating is hard for me. There is no way in I can maintain a 3,500 cal/day diet unless I am eating pizza or cheese burgers or something! (joke)


    Any tips or ideas?????????

    Ha I wish I could keep it under 3500. It's not that hard, liquids like milk and juice will help, as well as Peanut Butter and Olive Oil for healthy fats. Pasta is pretty calorically dense as well.

    Adding a glass of milk to each meal will add an easy 400+ cals. That and I would make huge shakes. Something with like milk, pb, oatmeal, banana/fruit, whey/casein, etc. Easy calories... come to think of it, that's pretty much my PWO shake (minus the pb)

    Breakfast/Lunch/Postworkout: 1.5 cups of Oats, 2 scoops of Whey Protein
    (690cals x 3 = 2070)

    Dinner: Chicken or Steak, Big ass Sweet Potato or Pasta, Milk
    (~750cals)

    Hour Before Bed: 3 tbsp of Peanut butter, 1.5cups of Fat Free Cottage Cheese)
    (600 calories)

    ~Total: 3420cals

    I have about 2/3 of a cup of cashews most days. There's 500 cals right there.
    Healthy monounsaturated fats too.

    you must hate eating to not be able to hit 3500, i have to make myself stop at 3500. drink whole milk. Its better than soy, skim or 2% for gaining muscle

    700 cals over 5 meals... not that hard... How about heres what I ate today and I'm at about 3500-4000 everyday right now
    1.3 tuna sandwiches with a little low fat cheese for one meal.
    2. A bagel with pb and a protein shake
    3. Chicken, broccoli and rice
    4. Asian Buffet (all sushi estimating each roll to be around 50 cals)
    5. 3 eggs, protein shake, almonds and pb
    There you go, that's how you do it

    look into dense foods like oats, peanut better, chicken, eggs etc... i find it very easy to get 4.5k a day

    its not hard at all you just deny caloric dense foods

    Use Olive Oil as your main fat source, oil will not fill you up at all pour it on your veggies and stirfrys

    eat a lot of Oats and WW Pasta.. very caloric dense and not filling

    Try eating lots of cottage cheese, yogurt, drink a lot of milk, and eat things like tuna and chicken and eggs which are very easy on the stomach,

    drop those pre-made gainers and make your own with Whey, pb, oats, milk, and fruit

    also snack on trail mix or granola throughout the day

    Wow! Maybe that is the problem! I drink fat free milk and water only with my meals.

    I do use:

    olive oil
    Flax Seed oil
    Natural peanutbutter
    Chicken Breasts
    whole wheat bread
    egg whites
    shaved turkey breast


    I never tried oats though!!! Are you supposed to cook them????

    i have hit over 3k calories without using milk, having more than 2 scoops of protein powder AND a lower fat diet as well.

    i do no recall the absolute break down, but i know there was:
    1 cup oats 300 cals
    2 cans of tuna 380 cals
    2 cup brown rice 440 cals
    egg whites 200 cals
    8 oz chicken breast 360 cals
    2 scoops pro complex 260 cals
    8 oz steak 570 cals
    3 cups broccoli 180 cals
    10 oz sweet potato 250 cals
    2 cups cantaloupe 120 cals
    then add in the tablespoon of olive oil in my eggs, a tablespoon of mayo with the tuna and the cream in my coffee and you are hitting 3200-3400.

    Liquid meals are a godsend. Get a blender and learn some good shake receipes.

    According to your log, you only had 11% of your intake from fats. If you up that, you'll have no problem hitting 3500.
