Do I want all that of those fats???? What will it do to me??? I ty to watch the fats.
As you can see I am confused. You go to one site and they say that you should eat 2,200 cals per day to gain muscle and lose fat. Go to another site and they say 1,800. Another 3,500+.
You ask 10 people and you get 10 answers. It's frustrating! I met this body builder who said that I was not eating enough food. I am trying to up the cals as healthy as I can but it's hard to do it healthy. Whole milk...fat, steak...fat, cheese....fat....
I am 5'10 184 lbs..............Last edited by jwhitner; 04-20-2008 at 11:45 PM.

You need healthy fats. If you're not getting at LEAST 65g/day at 3500 calories, I think you're shooting yourself in the foot big time.
100g would be a good amount for this amount of calories IMO.
See my almond butter post
Please, listen to people like FullOut and Layziebone (and even Sibrek when he's not just being a dick), they know what they're talking about.
BTW, today I ate 6 oz steak and 3 whole eggs today and some canola-oil based dressings and I'm gonna be eating 3 TBS nut butters later on, and I STILL am coming in under 25g saturated, but plenty of mono/poly fats (almost 100g, in fact).
But if you don't want answers, don't post questions.
And in your case, 3500 sounds right, especially if you're young/active.
So, goddamn it, go at that peanut butter with a big spoon.Last edited by Spottydog; 04-21-2008 at 12:24 AM.

you are relying on sites to tell you what you need for calories is your biggest mistake,
sites tell me i need 2500 to gain, but thats wrong..guess what i need over 4k.
its called TRIAL AND ERROR AND FIGURING OUT WHAT YOUR BODY NEEDS, no caluclator will ever be correct because its for a general basis, due to your activity level + BMR its going to change
Avoiding sautrated fats is also a bad idea, its called balanace and variation you need at least some good sat fats in ur diets from full fat dairy, lean meats, whole eggs etc. This is critical for the body and brain/hormone function

Eat fat. Keep your saturated fat intake normal, but load up on mono and polyunsaturated fats. Eat nuts, legumes, nut-butters, and olive oil. Fats are more than twice as dense as carbs and protein, per gram. In terms of carbs, whole grain pasta is a good option. It goes down really fast, and it'll get you a good caloric boost.

Iron is the least complicated thing in my life. The weight doesn't talk back to me, it just is. And I can either lift it or I cant. If I cant, someday I will!
