Body Fortress Whey... watch out.
This review is not what you might think!
People assume Body Fortress Whey Protein is of poor quality because it is sold exclusively at WalMart (I believe it is Walmart's brand) for like $14.00 per tub.
The real issue here is not the protein -- but the creatine mixed in to it. Many people are unaware that this brand contains creatine monohydrate. It is mixed in with the protein, and according to one source, amounts to 6 grams of creatine per serving.
Assuming 6 grams is an accurate figure, if you're consuming three scoops of whey protein a day you are unwittingly consuming 18 grams of creatine monohydrate a day.
Even if the product contains 3 grams rather than 6 crams, you'd be consuming close to 10 grams of creatine a day.
This creates several issues if you are unaware of the creatine content.
#1 If you are unaware that you are consuming 10+ grams of creatine per day, you most likely aren't drinking the LARGE quantity of water necessitated by creatine supplementation.
#2 If you're consuming 10+ grams of creatine, without knowing, and are also taking creatine monohydrate, you may be taking in a HUGE dosage.
I've been using Body Fortress whey for 2-3 months consistently now, and only recently realized that I had been 'accidently' supplementing creatine. My stomach looks bloated. I'm hoping that this is caused by the 10-15 grams of creatine I've been taking every single day for the last 3 months, while not drinking enough water.
I will be switching to a different brand, and I'll let you guys know

Actually, I see BF products at several other locations near me, Target, K-mart, and several grocery and drug stores.
I would have to assume that the 6gram figure is probably somewhat exaggerated.
You might try searching, as I beleive this subject has been addressed more than once in the past.
Good luck with whatever you choose.
edit:"You might try searching, as I beleive this subject has been addressed more than once in the past."
Just realized, that sounds kinda smart ass. NOT intended.

I don't know exactly where Body Fortress comes from, but I do know it is from the same place as Vitamin World's Precision Engineered brand. The creatine I believe is a new addition to the protein, it hasn't always been there. Very recently body fortress revamped their formula to include creatine, glutamine, and more BCAAs.

Does it actually say how much creatine is in it? I couldn't find it on the label.

wow! 46g of protein...I only use bodyfortress because I take in 6.5 scoops of whey a day and it is cheap. My chocolate flavored BF tub says 52g of protein. What's up with the differences?
I guess I need to stop taking my creatine product then.

I'm glad you mentioned that "stomach being bloated", many people don't realize that they are looking bloating because of what's in "a supplement" they're taking, as in your example here, excess.

HOLD THE PHONE
The new body fortress whey protein serving size for 6g (if it is that) is 2 scoops = 52g protein.
So yeah say you do take 3 scoops - that is still 10g creatine (supposedly). But not around 20 like you said before.
And the new Body Fortress protein says it on the label "now with creatine" -- it's called Body Fortress Advanced whey protein...the old stuff is still fine
It's in Cookies and Creme now too

Whoa weird that I came across this post because I literally just got back from Wal-Mart because I was running short on cash and didn't want to miss a whole week of protein supplementation till I got paid again. I bought the chocolate version and just came up stairs and ran a quick search on Body Fortress, I am starting on True Mass next week. What kind of results are you seeing on this brand, and how have you been drinking it? I was considering doing 2 scoops twice a day for a total of 4 scoops a day (using it as a pre and post workout drink). What's your advice?

They stopped that I think, my walmart carried it for like 2 months, now there back to the 46grams per serving no creatine.

I just looked at both products. I think that what happened was the 46g used to have creatine in it because I had seen it, but they got rid of the creatine when they came out with the "advanced" 52g one and put creatine in that one. So now it looks like the 46g one has no creatine, if that makes any sense.

There is not 6grams per scoop of creatine. The creatine is part of a recovery blend that also contains Taurine, Glutamine, Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine. This totals 9grams per scoop. Underneath the directions is the amino acid profile and a single scoop contains 1,762mg of Leucine, 962mg of Isoleucine and 922mg of Valine, this totals 3,646mg of BCAA's. Subtract that from 9grams of the recovery blend and you have 5.354grams which if we are to assume is divided evenly among the remaining ingredients in the blend then you are left with 1.7846666 grams of creatine. It would take three scoops to get close to six grams of creatine.

Very true. I liked the old 2005 and 2006 Bodyfortress formulas. I believe was as good as any other Whey protein on the market. This is back when you could buy Optimum Whey 5lbs for around $27 and I believe 2lbs of the bodyfortress was around $11.99, pretty close to the same price I just thought the Bodyfortress tasted alot better and could pick it up quick at Wal-mart so it was my choice of protein back then.
