This is the specs i have on what i'm drinking. The calories will probably add up but it says 0 sugar and everything else. I just worry about slowing my metabolism. I don't wanna screw things up too much but i only do this one night a week or 2 tops.

Most of you are missing the point. The real problem with alcohol isn't the carbs; it's the alcohol and it's impact on your entire system. Do a search for articles on this. If you're a recreational gym rat, it's no big deal; just keep it to a minimum. Most important: when you do it, have fun and don't worry about it. If you like beer, drink beer; if vokda, so be it. However, If you have competitive athletic goals, I can't think of a single better way to ensure your failure than drinking.

do you really believe that commercial it is true LOL... But all hard alcohol has 0 carbs 0 protein and 0 fat... what it has is Alcohol LOL.... and alcohol breaks down at 7 calories per gram almost like a liquid fat except the kicker is it breaks down and metabolizes like sugar... so its a super high calorie sugar your drinking.... but if you plan on drinking your best bet is the hard stuff with nothing added....

I've heard that if you work out on the same night as you drink, the effects can be much worse. So maybe take a day off before hand. As for the kind of alcohol you should drink, I say go for whatever you like. Drinking is, in my opinion, the ultimate indulgence so why limit yourself to juts a handful of options?
