    Question Foods with highest casein protein content?

    I tried doing a bit of googling but didn't really come up with anything. I'm wondering specifically to see what I should optimally eat before sleeping to sustain protein synthesis throughout the night therefore decreasing muscle breakdown.

    i dont think pb has casein protein lol the fats make it digest really slow so its an ideal food to eat before bed

    interesting...so what'd be a good amount of 1%, 2% milk to try to have before bed? i'm assuming that only a portion of the protein in milk is going to be casein, right? (i stay away from cottage cheese like the devil)

    edit: oh and yeah PB doesn't have casein hehe, it's just for the fats so it can slow absorption (as mitterTdub said)

    Around 80% of weight; I think there are four different types of casein proteins (kappa-casein is one I remember writing about in biology)

    casein is basically protein from milk.If you drink milk and have some peanut butter the fat will slow the digestion down even further.Alternatively you can but casein supplements..but I've never bothered
