should i play or not(reps for top 3 answers)
ok im an sophmore player who likes the game of football maybe for the most wrong reason(fame, popularity and hopes of getting a scholarship but might not happen because of height at qband speed at rb (option style qb))and after the long winter ive been thinking and ive come to the conclusion that the main reason thatr i work so hard in football is to be better at bodybuilding so i would like your opionion on this issue should i play or should i not?

i believe that you play for the wrong reasons...and cuz of that u will not get a scolarship and not realizing the true joy of football....you can gain fame and popularity by who you are as an individual, being a qb doesnt define you....it seems bodybuilding is your passion and trainign for bb is much different then training for fb.....i believe that if you have more passion for bb, then that is what you should focus on so that you can really excell....and if ur the most jacked guy at school...everyone will know u then too!

I quit varsity tennis this year just to work out. I've been body building since winter and there is no way I'm quitting to play tennis afterschool. Its up to you, but if you want to stay in football, enjoy the game, not just the results.

I don't think that if you have those reasons to play, maybe you shouldnt. You should maybe re think your reasons because it is a very fun sport. Maybe different people have different reasons but more a long the lines of I want to kept healthy and strong or I want to hit people and let out my anger. More likely the second one for people here because a lot of the people on the forums are working out and getting stronger anyway. You more than likely not to get a scholarship unless your really really (x100) good at it, and another set back for you is that you might not have never played. Its ultimately your choice but for only those reasons I wouldnt.

I am not going to make this long because it seems to me you answered your own question, you shouldnt play. If you dont play for the love of the game or for fun it takes away all that sports are. If you heart is not in the game then to me that is cheating not only other team members by not giving 100% effort all the time becuase you simply might not care somedays,, you are cheating yourself and taking away from other things you could be putting your heart and soul into.
Sports have always been my life, and yeah i know what you mean the popularity that comes along with being a decent player or scoring that big goal or TD is nice, but at the end of the day if you are not playing for yourself and for your team then whats the point?
Thats the way i see it.

not trying to get any rep and i have yet to read anyone elses reply but i'm a junior in highschool and i have the same dream as you to play football and believe me it's something your gonna miss out on if you don't start as soon as you can because i only get 1 year to play with the bigboys and then it's off to college and i know im no where good enough to play for any college here so I say go for it and playing football will give you the best outcome to becoming a good bodybuilder through my eyes

yeah exactly ive been playing football for a while i was a rb/lb but this past year i was moved to varcity(i can throw very far) and played qb and basically
ran the option and it seemed like each practice i just lost love of it and i know i just about or even stronger than the ones on the recruiting site but i dont feel like i have that natural burst of speed or the height for it

It all comes back to you. You're the only one who can make that decision. If you don't think you'll do well, don't do it. You won't play, won't get a scholarship, and won't gain popularity or fame. If you think you can do well, go for it. You have your goals and if you think you can achieve them, it's worth the try. "Take a walk on the wild side."

sorry for the spam in post but loli,it says your a running back and I was wondering what real requirements of a true running back do you need, like are you big or are you just fast
what is your 40 yard dash?

well i did plasy runningback until i got moved up to varcity to play option qb which 70 percent of the time runs the ball..
but im not that fast i ran a 5 flat 40 (first time runnnig it but still no excuses about my times)last year but im still only a sophmore..and im not really big im an decent size probally around 183 pounds but i am very hard to tackle because of my shiftness and strenght

yea man how good are you at it? its hard to call what you should do since you are in a bit of a dilemma. Football has its goods and bads, and most of the goods can be achieved BBing, except for actually playing. You can do both again, but you will see limited gains in BBing since you will have to focus more on your football. If you dont want to, then dont play football. I would not say those are the wrong reasons if they werent your only lol, but they are.

thats strange you say that because i started to realize my soph year that i was really only playing because i liked working out and getting stronger so much and of course hanging out with my friends and stuff
i ended up quiting and it didnt hurt any of my relationships with friends
also was good i dont want you to think i quit cuz i was bad i could hit the **** out of ppl when i was running the ball and i was one of the top strongest people on the team including the grades older when i was a soph
but when i stopped playing i started working out on my own it took me a while to get everthing together without layed out workouts for you but now im making better gains in size and strength than i ever did after learning about diet and different work out routines
its more of a personal decision but i can tell you by soph year the ppl that like you will like you weather you play or not every now and then i miss the game but i also love getting stronger and bigger and the gains im getting now are far better than before
but again for me the hardest part was giving up hanging out with everyone during football but once you get to varsity its right down to buisness you dont mess around a fraction as much
this decision is more about what you really want though so i would think it over and what you want and dont want
if you have any other questions you can pm me cuz i went through the same thing soph year
