    working to failure?

    when i work out i dont count, i just work to failure 90% of the time or is just do it till i get too much pain, so i was wondering will always working to failure hurt or help?

    also, i noticed alot of people mess up their backs, i just started working my back out so im going to try not to injure it lol

    I've always heard that it's bad to work till failure, don't remember why

    Working to failure taxes the CNS and it need to recover, you can over train quickly. It ok to work untill failure sometimes just give yourself extra recovery days.

    i can see that, i take a 3 day break sometimes, but what is CNS(central nervous system?)?

    yes the CNS is the central nervous system. going until failure can be great at times but its important to know when to do so and when to hold off. if your routine emphasizes a lot of volume I would never go to failure. if it's more frequency and less sets, going to failure on most sets works well for me. give it a try and see how you respond.

    sometimes i throw sets to failure for a change of pace, but do not consistantly do it.
    Performing 1 REP box squats on the toilet 3 times a day.
    Eating to gain weight requires you to eat enough that when you burp you throw up in your mouth a little- me on how i went from 180 to 270
